A funny thing happend on the way home from NAAF

Hello Gang,
It's been three years now since my alopecia started.
It all started July 5th 2007 with a small round bald spot on the left side of my head. Within three months I had lost so much hair I decided to take the plunge and shave my head for the first time.
I became comfortable with my new self image with the help of Alopecia World and NAAF (3 conferences in 3 years)
I was AU for about a year and slowly things have been "Growing Along"

After the NAAF Conf in INDY this year I decided I wasn't going to shave my head on a daily basis.
The results are in after three short weeks.
Only time will tell....

And the journey continues...I still have about 10 spots of white/translucent hair. I am using a product called Derm Match. I apply it with a makeup sponge which takes me about 15 minutes. It stays put all day until I wash it out at the days end.
Funny how this journey continues...

Wow Jeffrey, I don't know if I can deal with you with all that stuff growing out of your head. ( ;-)

Seriously, congratulations and go for it! Are your eyebrows coming in, too?

Hugs,
Mary

I once had a professional makeup artist put "Just for Men" brown facial hair color on my eyebrows when they were coming in light, and I went to buy some. Then I read the label where it said in very strong terms NOT to use it near the eyes! Maybe there's some other kind that's safe.

wow cool! To what—if anything—do you attribute your regrowth?

Jeff, it seems like you have already learned the lesson of self-acceptance. Isn't it a nice feeling to know that you are growing your hair back once you have learned to accept not having it. Seriously knowing that whether you grew your hair back or not -- not much would change.

I think the message to take from Jeffrey's experience is that we'd all better attend NAAF next year! ( ;-)
