Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is a relatively new psychology method to help people deal with issues in their lives. I encourage those who are having a hard time coping with their hairloss to research this method of therapy. "Get Out Of Your Mind And Into Your Life" and "The Happiness Trap" are two of a few books on this topic and there is plenty of information online about it. Psychologically speaking I've never found doctors very helpful in aiding their patients cope but this method is similar to how a few of us have helped ourselves. If this is something you are interested in, wikipedia has some information on it and it doesn't hurt to do an online search about ACT either. I've added the link to wikipedia for you to start you off. This could be a very useful tool for support group leaders as well. I've downloaded the first book I mentioned and plan on reading very soon but I wanted to share this because it looks like something worthy of our attention in helping others cope with not just alopecia but negativity and stresses in our lives.
