Alopecia accepting guys are pretty awesome :)
So for those who don't know, my boyfriend of almost 3 years and I broke up back in Feb or March, because he couldn't accept me bald (I shaved the rest off in Sept '10). That hurt a lot, kind of temporarily damaging my self esteem. Well I've had this great guy friend that before I met my ex, I was kind of interested in more than a friend, but he didn't seem interested, and things just happened as they did. Well he asked me out on a date earlier this week, which was kind of shocking to me, but I accepted it. So last night we went out, and it was nice because I haven't dressed up in a while and I've lost a good amount of weight and feel so much better about myself. When I opened the door his eyes lit up and he just automatically told me I looked beautiful, which I'm not use to...unless its like my mom or stepdad, lol. We went out to dinner and a movie, and it was the most fun I have had in a LONG time. He complimented me, and then asked me what was wrong, and I felt so stupid trying to explain to him I'm not use to the compliments from guys. He then told me to get use to it :) I explained what had happened between me and my ex and he said to me, I've known you with long hair, and now with your shaved head and your beauty never changed. Your a beautiful woman and any man with you would be lucky. I was probably 7 different shades of red by then. Our date ended great, with plans for many more to come and I'm hoping this turns out as something good for me. I think I deserve some good things in my life after this year has been a broken foot in January, loss of a boyfriend, then Vertigo at the end of march. Finally a decent guy and I finally get to return to work July 5th. Life is FINALLY looking up in 2011.

That was a beautiful story! My boyfriend dumped me as soon as I told him I was losing hair. You couldn't even tell I was losing it yet but he didn't even want to take the chance of me losing it all. Some people are just ignorant but it's a good thing we see their true colors now rather than later... I too think you are beautiful and I never saw you with hair! I'm very happy for you!

I just looked at your pics again and saw you with your long hair. I think you are so gorgeous without hair. You are very lucky and I hope that good things continue to come your way!

The most shocking thing for me in that story is that people dont compliment you on your good looks ... I mean .. Its so obvious.... Anyways he sounds like a good guy. Happy for U!
