Ok, so last week I saw a different doctor at my GPs, after my blood tests came back clear.
So I wanted to discuss my options with him.
So i asked if I could see a dermatologist and he said i could do, I asked about steroids he said they wouldnt help.
So I asked about accupuncture, and he said that was useless too, so I tried asking about caffeine based potions and minoxodil he said they dont work. He said all that will help is exercise.
Maybe he thinks this will help with my stress (and he may be right), but I want my hair to come back now. I want to try everything and anything that might help.
College starts back in september, and I need my hair (i have stick out ears) and I've been single over a year and I need to start getting back on track.
So now Im unsure what to do.
I don't know if all my hair is going to fall out, or whether this thinning will stop and grow back soon, or I dont know. No one could know.

Christina,
While I'm sure exercise is a good suggestion to relieve stress, if possible you should get more medical opinions as diffferent doctors have differing opinions on treatments. If you can find a lead on a dermatologist who specializes in hair that would obviously be the best. If your hair loss is causing or contributing to life altering stress in your life, you might also consider seeking counseling. No matter what - please try and not let this control your life and remember - you are not alone!

I work in the health field as a nurse. You need to look at choosing doctors like you would look at picking repair men for your house. You wouldn't pick a plumber to fix your electrical problem. If you want good advice about your hair loss, then go to someone who specializes in hair loss. Doctors only stay up on the latest and greatest treatments that directly affect their practice of medicine unless they are out of the norm. I will agree that getting to the root of your hair loss problem is important and that stress can play a major role. It certainly played a major role in my losing all mine. Exercise can relieve stress, but if you aren't getting rid of the original stressor, then exercise is only a temporary fix. Do your research and find a good dermatologist that specializes in hair loss and get to the bottom of what is stressing you. Never give up!

Wants are different from needs, by the way. What were humans born with 10,000 years ago? What do we really NEED to still stay alive?
