Hello everybody! I'm looking for some advice...
I got diagnosed with alopecia areata in May but it seems to have progressed (or digressed?)and I now have absolutely no body hair. I'm fairly ok with no head hair, I dont like wearing a wig and have gotten used to going out and about with a bald head. I miss my eyebrows though and have been considering getting some semi permanent eyebrow tattoos done.I was just wondering if any of you wonderful people have had these done and if so could you tell me about your experiences (good and bad).
Thanks :D
I got my eyebrows done at an Electrolysis....and that was almost 8 years ago...I am hoping next year some time I can get them redone...Yes, they do fade....But, it took me this long...The lady I went to was awesome....I am thinking about getting my eyeliner done since I don't have any eye lashes as well....I was diagnosed with AA in 2001 and a year later all my hair was gone and fell out ....I was always putting on stencils and using eye shadow to make my eyebrows...I didn't like the pencil look....But, any way...It is a great investment...Mine were 300 bucks....I give you so much credit that you don't wear a wig out and about....Some day I hope I could do that as well...It has taken me a long time to get where I am now....But, anyway...Yes..Do your research and look around in your area...But, I think it would be a great thing......Heather
Hello Kate, I am a practioner specialising in semi permanent make-up. Over the last 6 years I have treated many clients who suffer with alopecia, most recent Olympic gold medalist Joanna Rowsell (pictures on my profile). All my clients have said that having the treatment has had a positive result for their own self confidence. I would be more than happy to have an informal chat about the procedure and the expected results. Please check out my Facebook page for more client images http://www.facebook.com/belindahayle
Hope to chat soon? Warmest regards Belinda. X
Hey Belinda, strangely enough I was planning to contact you with regards to this, I'm friends with Joanna on facebook and saw her picture when she had her eyebrows done and they look amazing. Could you send me some information with regards to prices? I'm in Australia at the moment and wont be back in England till mid 2013 so I've been looking for places to get them done here but if I can find somewhere I feel comfortable with in England I'm prepared to wait and get it done once I'm home, I understand they sometimes need redoing once they fade so obviously it would be better to find someone who I could return to which would need to be in England.
Kate
