Today I wore Flo, my wig, and we had a blast!
I was so excited that those who did not know what I have been going through did not know that she was a wig. That really boosted my confidence today.
However, that does not hold a candle to the compliment I received today. I am really open about the AA. If anyone asks why I have on a hat I tell them that I have AA. Pretty quickly all the little old men and ladies at the retirement community where I work knew and most were really supportive. Two of the ladies complimented me on my new "hair" and I told them about the wonderful wig shopping experience I had. Then one of the servers from the dining room came up and told me that I was the happiest person she ever met. She couldn't believe how upbeat and sunny I was considering my hair is gone. That made my day!
Update: Flo and I were in the car and totally rocking out at a red light - dancing and singing way too loud for my own good. I felt like someone was watching me so I looked over and the guy in the car stopped next to me was looking. He turned his head quickly and I couldn't resist so I quickly whipped Flo off and waited for him to look back over. He did and the look on his face was PRICELESS!
