I developed Alopecia while I was pregnant with my son 17 years ago. I was 19 and had no idea why my hair was falling out. I kept telling myself that it was just from the stress of an unexpected pregnancy. I was a pre-school teacher at the time and thank God for children and their compassion and understanding. It did not seem to phase them at all that their teacher was loosing her hair. I didnt buy my first wig until my son was a couple months old and looking back, it wasnt a very good one. LOL At that time I lost my eye lashes and eyebrows too. My eyelashes did come back after a couple years and had been back until about a month ago, and of course I only lost the lashes on my left eye. I have started wearing false lashes now to balance out my eyes. :-) Its very frustrating to say the least, hair today, gone tomorrow. But of course through all of this I have still had to shave my under arms. Sometimes I look to God and say "seriously? thats the hair I needed to keep?"

Me too Cara! The hair under my arms is about the only hair I have never lost. It's not fair, is it?! I really wish I could trade it for some eyelashes. Although I am not sure what I would do if they only grew back on one eye...Alopecia is SO frustrating. Hang in there, I'm sending positive thoughts your way that your other eyelashes will grow back too :)
