How do you like your Freedom hair prosthesis?

Hi everyone...It has been awhile since I have posted anything. I was looking for some input...I am looking into getting a Freedom hair prosthesis. Right now I am in the waiting stages with the insurance company (waiting to see if they are going to cover any of it). I was just wondering if anyone out there had one of these pieces and how they liked it. I have seen all the YouTube video's and read a bunch of testimonials on the web sight, I was just curious what anyone else might have to say about them.
I have had alopecia for...lets see...22 years. I have had wigs in the past, and I hated them!! So I either wear a scarf/hat combo, or in my younger days I would go bare head. Now, however, I am just looking for something else. Any thoughts?

I love my Freedom hair! I've had Alopecia since birth so have been through the wigs/hats/bare head route at different points in my life. The Freedom hair is the best I've had so far. I have so much more confidence with it and can be very active w/o worrying that it will fall off. I can even go swimming!
Drawbacks- I have to be careful with the hairline because I can occasionally notice it thru my hair. And ANY amount of shedding freaks me out a little because it's SO expensive. And of course the expense but to me it's worth it.
Hope that helps!

I have one too but don't wear it anymore. They're not for everyone. Some find it too hot to wear and some don't like the way it feels on their head. Before I bought a freedom wig I had worn your everyday average synthetic wig and hated the way they moved around on my head, they were itchy nasty things and the hair didn't hold up longer that 3 months. The freedom wig stays on your head, it doesn't itch unless you get particularly sweaty underneath, and the hair stays beautiful for a long time. You get used to the suction feel on your head, but may find it gives you a sore spot or a headache if you haven't put it on just right. The hairline is not particularly convincing.I wore mine everyday for 3 years then sent it for repairs as the base had started to deteriorate and then wore it intermittently for another year before I went to lace and thinskin wigs which I still wear. My freedom wig is my backup wig. The hair is still great but shorter than what I wear these days. As with any wig it is a personal preference as to what type of wig suits you. If you live a very active lifestyle like jogging/gym or live in a hot climate it can get hot wearing a suction. But after wearing synthetic 'normal' type wigs I loved mine.

I like mine as well (expensive as &^%$) but now I wish I had a shorter version to wear during the summer. This is alot of hair and its hot on my neck and I can't really pin it up like I want since i got it cut in layers. Also my insurance company reimbursed me $500. (helped a lil, I'm happy for whatever I could get)
