Victoria (Vicki) Kalabokes, former President & CEO of the National Alopecia Areata Foundation (NAAF), died on Saturday, January 22, 2022, in San Rafael, California.

If you have been to a National Alopecia Areata Conference you know who Vicki is and all that she has done for the Alopecian community.  I remember way, way, way before Alopecia World sitting in a ballroom and she just sat down and started talking to me, as if she knew me.  Never once did she not say to me in the 20 years that I attended the conference.  “Hi, Cheryl!”  In fact, it was incredible, I truly believe that she actually knew everybody's name and face, even if there were 700 attendees! She did indeed make everybody feel like somebody.

The NAAF Conferences were life-changing for me.

Without a doubt, I cried when I heard the news and the alopecian world has been truly shaken. Vicki, your life mattered and your legacy is engraved on so many of our hearts. My sincere sympathies to the family.

Her funeral service will be on Thursday Funeral, January 27 at 10:30 am PST
