In one week I have:

Made new friends, laughed, cried, looked in the mirror differently, been encouraged, laughed, been inspired, have received great advice, read lots of stories; lost all of my eyebrows; learned how to draw(on my face); felt comfortable; felt welcomed, taken my first wigless picture and learned to love my bald head more each day! The only thing that I am dissapointed about is that I didn't find this site full of beautiful bald people sooner!! Thank you AW!!

Kim,
In reading about your one week, you just made me cry!!! I must be super emotional today but it's a good cry. It reminded me of the feeling I got when I learned that I wasn't the only one in the world whose hair all fell out and that Alopecians are the most wonderful, caring, loving people in the world. I absolutely LOVE my bald head because without it I wouldn't have found the lifelong friendships that I have made over the last 9 years!!! I'm so happy for you because you also have found out that big bald is not so bad and you have just found a place where you will also make lasting friendships!!!
Love and Hugs,
Dotty

Thanks, Kim. Following on with it: In one week, I surprised my father in California for his birthday, remembered to pray every day, morning noon and night, stayed sober all week (one day at a time of course), encouraged another person who needed it, saw a brother I haven't seen in two years, lost more hair and gained some new pale white ones, but it didn't dominate my life this week. All in all, a great week, I'd say.

Hello my dear new friends! Now it is very difficult, my mother was crying no hair at all and eyebrows fall out. Thank you for your support. Our Ukraine does not center alopecia so I'm alone. The school problem, people do not understand. Offer to go for treatment in Cuba, that you can recommend?? You are very dear to me!

Kim,
And the best part is that every week with Alopecia World can be a wonderful frame for the emotions created by the ups and downs of the gifts life gives during that time. Life is precious. The sooner we can live fully in the present free of the shame and fear of how the world perceives our hair loss, the sooner we can get back to being open to the opportunities for joy each day of each week holds for us. Shine on sisters and brothers, shine on!
