Beautiful Ones,

This weekend while having drinks with Bass Man at Jimmy Maks in Portland, the topic of conversation rolled around to the impact of Alopecia on women. I mentioned that so many of my friends on this site had expressed concern about how men they meet will react to a woman having Alopecia and wearing wigs. He was surprised that women would fear rejection for this reason. He said that very few men would find that important enough to end a relationship or never start one. He was adamant and hoped I would pass this along to you.

For my part, I'd like to assure you that in my opinion Bass Man's views are pretty reliable. He is educated, hip, and probably more concerned with appearances -- his own and others' -- than most men. If he thinks it's no big deal; it's not. So, don't "borrow trouble" as my Mother would say. Approach new men with confidence and worry about something else (like which stores are having shoe sales this weekend!)

I wish peace to all of you!

Marie

P.S. I got new hair just for our Portland jaunt. I love it (see photos - July 2009)

Thanks for this - I have been slowly discovering this for myself and have realised that my biggest issue with relationships is my lack of self confidence, not my lack of hair. I have met plenty of guys who don't mind about the hair at all.

Yes! You are totally right about that.

Clue: men met in bars are there because they can't meet girls through friends and healthy activities. They may also be hoping to get someone drunk enough to fall all over them quickly. So, do not think you will me"the right one" in a bar (or pub). Those guys may even have challenges from friends to pick up the hottest babe or the bimbo in the room who is "easy." Do not be one of those girls for them, even if you are lonely and desperate.

I could not agree more! Smart girls know this.

Marie, thanks for posting this! It's so reassuring to hear a guy say this. I was actually just thinking about this very subject a minute before I came on this website. Just in time!
Thanks again! =)
