My first bald driver's license!

My driver's license is up for renewal, and I've been waiting until I could get a new photo that looks the way I've looked for 3 years - bald! Every time I had to show the old photo ID to someone, it depressed me to see myself with all the hair and my original eyebrows. And, people would look at the photo and just assume all the more that I have cancer.

So, this week I made an appointment and went in to have a new photo taken. They unexpectedly made me take the written test again, but fortunately, I passed.

My new license will not only have a photo of me in all my bald glory, but it says "bald" under hair color. What else could it say?!

Another milestone on my path to self-acceptance achieved! Have any other of you had a driver's license photo taken?

It was kind of weird writing it in on the form, but also somehow it felt really good.

Well, I guess if you have any hair at all, and it's brown, it should say "brown". I have zero, so it was pretty clear what I should put. ( ;-)

That's funny Mary! "bald" under hair color. I guess mine is going to say brown spots...

Hi Mary.... congrats on becoming "official"! It's almost like you've been accepted by the establishment, isn't it? Sort of "rubber stamped".... which, actually, I suppose, you have been :)
