I had mentioned before I have a stubby head except for the sides of my head , the stubs have been that way for a year now, doctors say its as good as its gonna get, and I still don't understand why that is, even though I know it is caused by my white cell count, but here's the thing, I'm always itchy leaving my head scabby whenever I wear wigs with a cap under it.
I try shaving it to releive the itch, I use soap and I can't seem to shave it right making everything worst and cutting myself alot, does anyone have any idea what else I should try to use??
Any tips would be helpful and thank-you

Domeboro...or something like that. You soak a washcloth in it (mixed with water) and put the compress on your head.

Lisa Lynn - Get a face cloth and run it under hot tap water.
Slap that baby on your cranium for a minute or so.

Get your hubby to lather you up with his shaving cream and give you a $2 dollar shave.

- PS - Pass on the aqua velva .

Robb, I don't think that product will heal open sores, nor will shaving! She needs to keep hands off for awhile!

I know all about itchy.....LOL. I have excema aswell. I have a prescription that contains cortisteriod. Which helps a lot. I have had excema patches on my scalp in the past. Also try aveeno or and this will sound gross but my dermalogist swore by it. There is a couple on the shelf body notions that contain urea. Yup that's right. The one product starts with "ur......something" can't remember the name. But I have used it and it does help with the need to scratch. Good luck hun

My advice is to see a Dermatologist for some cream if you haven't done so already.
I also recommend an electric shaver as opposed to a razor to shave you head. No nicks or cuts have been my experience.

I also have excema. I'm starting to think there is a correlation between excema & alopecia. Anyway, I use Cetaphil. It is for sensitive skin. I would get the Cetaphil cream and see if that helps with any sores. I use Cetaphil to help with my excema. Once the sores are gone, to get a better shave... Try the HeadBlade. You can find it at Walgreen's. That is what I use, and I found out about it from the founder of Bald Girls Do Lunch. It was designed for men who shave their heads. I have one and love it. It gives a great close shave. It takes some getting use to so you may not like it the first time, but keep using it. I also use a Men's sensitive shave gel.

Lisa, I go to a styling salon and they shave my entire head for $8. Never had a problem with my head itching. She uses a #2 blade on my hair when shaving.
