Hello all,

It's been a while since my last blog post so I thought I'd give you another update.
And it's not just any update, no no no... It's an update about my hair.
'Huh, hair?' you may think but yes you read 'hair' allright.

So lately I've been doing my best to push some hair out of my head, and I've done well.
For the last couple of weeks more and more hair has been growing back, and I'm pretty excited about it actually. Well, I don't think it's strange that i'm excited about that. My parents are as excited as, or even more excited than me which is pretty funny.
This is a photo of my hair =)

Eventhough I'm excited about my hair growing back, I do have the thought in the back of my head that it can (and probably will someday) fall out again. But still I cant wait for all of it to grow back.
It has grown back on the top of my head, and at the sides it's gently making it's way back too.
So for all of you who have Alopecia Areata: keep up the hope and think positively, I'm sure that will help just a little bit! If you believe it will work.

ciao!

Are you undergoing treatments? And if so I was wondering what so I could take it!

You and my son should get together! His is growing on the sides but not much on the top. We could put your two head together and have a whole head of hair! ; )

Is yours growing in evenly? My son's has lots of "holes". It looks like a moth got loose under his hat. But over the past couple of months it seems like the "holes" are getting smaller and I'm noticing some clear or white hairs in most of the bald area on top. He doesn't seem nearly as excited as I am. I want him to show off his new growth and he still just wants to cover it up.

@Eric No, i'm not undergoing any treatments, I'm letting it all grow naturally, and it's been working pretty good as you see =) Guess I'm in a period where it grows back again

@Connie Hehe yeah guess that would work with your son and I. But It's not growing back evenly yet, in the picture you can see dark spots as well as lighter spots, the lighter spots are more recent than the darker spots. So the hair at the darker spots is thicker and grows a bit faster than the lighter spots. But I'm keeping everything the same length by trimming everything until all hair has grown back.
How far is your son with the proces? I'm very open about it now and I've been walking around without my wig a lot lately so I don't mind showing my (partly) bald head. But it's nice that his spots are getting smaller! Hope it all works out

Hi Lionel! It's great to see that some of your hair is coming back! You are such a positive role model for other young men out there! Keep it up :)

Lionel-
I first noticed white fuzz on my son's face and scalp about 4 months ago. The dark "real" hair started coming in about 2 months ago. I convinced him to let my hairdresser shave it all off again a week ago and it was about a 1/2 inch long. Now it seems to be growing even faster and filling in better.
