Hi all! Ok, so maybe some people get alopecia once and never get it again, I would like to talk to one, but, has any one ever experienced dental issues or infections with the Alopecia? I have had some cavities in both wisdom teeth that I haven't taken care of for a while,I know thats bad, but they haven't really hurt or bothered me. I'm wondering if that can trigger the Alopecia?? Anyone heard of this or had the same thing happen around the same time?? Also, I did notice that when I'm gone from my home, I fell like I loose less hair, weird right?! Could it be a an trigger around the house, animals, mold, allergies? Maybe I'm just more distracted when I'm not at home and I just dont notice it as much. When I'm at home, I do stress out more and think about it so it's hard to tell. Does anyone else have thoughts or similar experiences with this??! Just curious!! Thanks!!!

Hi Melissa, I have had a sinus infection both times I started to loose my hair..... Not sure if it is related. I noticed when I am at home I have more pain on my scalp and itching. I think when I am at work I don't have time to think about my hair..I guess that is a good thing, other wise I would go crazy

Hi Katie, I think people who have Allergies have some kind of connection with Alopecia. I know that I do plus I always used to get sinus infections too. There needs to be some more research in this area. I wish we could solve the mystery of AA! I know there are common issues that keep coming up with people that have AA. These things must be related somehow!! I just wish I knew what! Then I'd stay away from it!! LOL!

i read an article in a medical journal that connected a case of alopecia areata with an impacted wisdom tooth. it seems that dental infection can trigger it, so just to be safe... take care of those teeth.
