Hi there all,
I was just wondering if any of you have experienced folliculitis along with the alopecia? I have had this a couple of times since I had AA and I still have not found the right combination of medicines, soaps, ect. to get rid of it!! I read that if you get it sometimes, it will just keep coming back again and again just like alopecia!! Why can't I catch a break!! Any help would be appreciated!! Thanks!!

Hi there ya'll! Question, is there anyone on here that has had a good experience with any wig that is not a vacuum wig? I am still receiving treatments and still have 2/3 of my hair, so I'm not ready yet to shave my head. On the other hand, am willing to buy a wig that is not a vacuum wig, but still looks really close to one for now. Has anyone had a good experience with any other kinds of wigs other than the vacuum?? Thanks for any feedback!! Melissa

Hey Ya'll!! I'm just wondering, is there anything know to you that would help stop or slow down the shedding?!! I can't stand it anymore! I think you AT and AU people are almost better off because you don't have to deal with it!! I cant stand it and it's driving me crazy!! Is the only thing that I can do is shave my head?! Het Ya'll!
Have you guys heard of this statistic before? That would mean that only about 200,000-280,000 people actually get AT or AU and the rest never do?? So where are those people??? I have not really met any on this site or anywhere else on the internet. Could this be a wrong statistic? It seems like to me, mostly everyone that has AA, eventually gets AT and or AU after a while. Thanks for any feedback!!

Hey guys! Just wondering if any one ever experienced getting the shots in the scalp and butt and still having massive shedding?! Last year when I got the shots, the shedding stopped like right away after I received them. I at least slowed down way more then. This time, I have already gotten 2 rounds of the scalp shots and one shot in the butt and still tons and tons of shedding! It is driving me crazy literally! What the hell is going on?! Has this happened to anyone else. Does it just stop…

I have heard that some people have become blind for these shots in the scalp!! I got some more shots this Monday and my eyes feel like they are burning a little bit but otherwise they are ok. Please give me any feedback if you know someone that has experienced eye issues or not! If you have not had any eye issues with the shots, let me know as well!…

I found this article below about a case study for AA:
"10 percent of cases in this study were categorized as Type II (atopic type) alopecia areata, and was described as clinically having hair loss in a round, ophiasis-patterned, reticular, or indeterminate shape. These patients with type II alopecia areata had a history of asthma, allergic rhinitis, or dermatitis. The hair loss in these patients lasted longer than those with type I alopecia areata and was associated with seasonal…

Just wondering,
Is pretty much everyone that is on here (this site) bald or wears a wig or scarf as their daily routine?? Are there any members that have AA and still have hair that they can wash and wear out in public still. I was told there are people like that with AA but I have not run into any people like that on here at all. Mostly everyone is bald or wears wigs. Once you are AA are you just gonna be AT and AU for sure and it's only a matter of time?? I was told different before but…

Hi there all,
I was diagnosed back in August of 2008 and probably started hair loss back in March-April 2008. I did receive 3 treatments, shots on my scalp and the big shot in the butt. My last Big shot was back in October and the ones in the scalp were in November 2008 I was doing great until very recently. I lost a tiny bit if eyelashes, really small area and now I felt like I was shedding again more on one side. It's not really terrible shedding, but still I am so aware of when I loose…

Hi all! Ok, so maybe some people get alopecia once and never get it again, I would like to talk to one, but, has any one ever experienced dental issues or infections with the Alopecia? I have had some cavities in both wisdom teeth that I haven't taken care of for a while,I know thats bad, but they haven't really hurt or bothered me. I'm wondering if that can trigger the Alopecia?? Anyone heard of this or had the same thing happen around the same time?? Also, I did notice that when I'm gone from…

Hi there, I have a question for everyone on here. Did everyone that had re-growth have Alopecia again and again after?? If, so how long of a period and how much hair loss?? I'm curious because I'm reading that if you get it once, you will get it again almost for sure. Is there anyone that only got it once and never again?? Looking for some answers! Thanks!

Hi there guys,
Just wondering if there are any of you with the same pattern of AA as me. I have the snake like pattern that wraps around the nape of the neck, behind the ears and temple areas of the scalp. I found Jessica, on Alopecia World, who I've talked to and has the same pattern too. I think we really helped eachother out by just sharing our experiences. It is a strange pattern and not a lot of us Alopecians have it. If anyone out there would like to share their story, I'd love to…

Hey there everyone,
Does anyone on this site had the experience of having AA and then it turning into AT? If so, can you share your experience and how fast it happened? I'm just not sure if I'm turning for the worse now, it sure feels and looks that way. I've been shedding more and more everyday and my hair is feeling REALLY THIN now! I'm scared out of my mind and everything in me is in a shock-mode. I just want to know what to expect is this what is happening to me. Thanks.

Hello,
I found this looking around on the rnet about herbs that are used for anti-inflammatory,
"In addition to medical drugs, many herbs have anti-inflammatory qualities, including hyssop, ginger, Turmeric, Arnica montana which contains helenalin, a sesquiterpene lactone, and willow bark, which contains salicylic acid, a substance related to the active ingredient in aspirin. Cannabichromene, one of the many cannabinoids present in the cannabis plant, has been shown to…

(For ALL MEMBERS reading this on the site that would like to share their experience), how long did it take after being diagnosed did everyone decide to just shave all of their hair off? It seems like everyone got to that point after looking at most of the members stories. I thought a lot of people (at least 50%) keep most of their hair and can conceal their hair loss fairly well and eventually grow it back. I know that it can happen again though. I asked my doctors nurse if they thought I would…

Hi,
I was just wondering, I have read so many blogs and mostly they are all about people who are mostly all bald that have Alopecia Areata. Is there anyone out there that lost some hair but grew it back?! Most stories that I've read are really depressing to me. I went to see a specialist and they told me unoffically that I have AA. I have been losing for about 3 months now. I heard the stats. 10% of the 2% of the population go completely bald, but there is still 90% that don't. Where are…
