Hi there everyone,
I know there are a lot of you that do not wear wigs on this site and are ok with it. I am one of those ones that in this stage of the game is just too chicken to do that. So, anyone that has any experience with wigs and buying them, which are the best ones, ect.. have ANY advice for me, please post here! I don't want to get taken, these things are not cheap!! Thanks in advance!!!

Hi Melissa,
The best advice I can give is to do your research and go and try on as many as you can. Personally I prefer 100% human hair wigs eventhough they are considerably more money, I think they're totally worth the money. I've tried all sorts, but I know many people like synthetic wigs.
I recommend you do not buy your first wig online, even if it's cheaper. I think that until you're fully confortable and sure of what you're buying why take the chance that you won't get what you thought you were getting. I think that when buying a hair piece you need to feel comfortable in it, best to have the opportunity to try on some and determine what style, length, color etc you truly want. Remember, this is different from when you went to the hair dresser to "change it up a bit". The world is yours to choose from. You can choose whatever you want. Straight, curly, wavy, dark, light, short, long...whatever you want....I try to remind myself that this is a 'fortunate' part of having alopecia...choices!
All the best.

Hi Melissa, Personally, I think if you can save for it...a vacuum piece is def. the way to go. It feels like a beautiful head of hair and it is custom to your head. It is the most comfortable thing I've ever felt. I forget I'm wearing one...at night I wear a human hair wig...and I hate it...my scalp always feels itchy....never with the vacuum piece though (you just can't wear them at night). Let me know if you have any questions about them! :)
