Just want to shout out to see if anyone has any tricks for keeping tangles away. Especially the underneath of the back. It's so frustrating. The only trick I have so far is to load up on mousse so it's so crunchy it just sticks to itself.

My hair was getting tangled because I was so embarrassed about my patches I'd just tie it up, use hairspray to fix it in place, then getting thr knots out would break it more. Here's a couple things I have found that help:

Invest in a "tangle teezer" hair brush - perfect for hair pieces/extensions. Cost £10 on ebay

L'oreal hair repair leave in conditioning spray - comes in yellow bottle with red cap, about £3.50 an lasts for ages, really good at drtangling and won't make hair greasy

Rachel, do you just use the L'oreal product when your hair is wet after washing or can you reapply to dry hair between washings? I have this exact problem and the tangles are really only on the nape (underside) area.

Tangling is a problem that I deal with too....
I have tried the leave in conditioners...w hich work for the first couple of days... but then the tangling gets really bad after that... even reapplying the conditioner doesnt always help..(it helps to detangle the hair at that moment...but will just get tangled again by the end of the day.)
I have found this products...that helps.... it's water based so doesn't leave the hair greasy... "PURE GLOSS POLISHER" ANTI FRIZZ DEFINITION AND SHINE, made by UNA...
http://www.physication.com/blog/una-pure-gloss-polisher-150ml-sale....
I use it in-between shampoos too.... to give the hair at the nape a shine... so it is silkier... and thus doesn't tangle so easily. I am sure there are similar products by other companies... i haven't tried them... i basically saw this one in front of me at the store and thought i would try it out....

Hope this helps!

The l'oreal thing you can use on dry hair too, in between washes. I use mine every day and I have tons left too

Oh... and something else... I have noticed that when I set the hair in rollers etc, and let it air-dry (very easy in summer), it is much silkier and tangle free for days!! Now in winter, when I have to use the hairdryer or straightening tongs, the hair tangles much much easier. Maybe I am not doing the straightening properly and but I don't want to pull on the hair too much.

I bought the UNA product listed above and I love it. I used it on dry hair since I just washed my hair the other day and I like to go a week in between. It made my hair (human hair wig) very soft and was much easier to untangle during the day. Not a perfect solution, probably nothing is...but it's a very nice product.
