The Alopecian Closet...Are you in or out?

Hello Alopecia World,

I wish there was a poll section on this site for such a question.

I am writing tonight in support of National Bald (now called International Alopecia Day).
This is an event for women with alopecia. The objective is to raise awareness and acceptance for bald women in society. What is asked of you is to organize, join or support a group of local alopecians and go bald for the day.

Please consider joining us and making this a day of celebration and unity.

Come out Come out wherever you are.... July 19 2009

thanks for your support Jeffrey.
I do my best in Germany and I meet a lot of german women who are to blashful or afraid about the reaktion of other people. They spent a lot of money to look like other people. A lot of women have problems to accept their new looking and don´t try to start to live their life like it is now ! I do try to show them that a live without hair are not as bad as a lot of other sickness you can get.
I do hope I will find some women fpr the 19 July to do the same like me !

I wish we could have a poll on AW, too - not a judgment on what's right or wrong, but just a poll to find out where we all are. From reading and sharing on the National Bald Out and Sisterhood of Women Who Shaved Their Heads groups, I know there are many women like me who are out of the closet. I'm hoping that after July 19, there will be many more. Read a lovely recent post from someone who has decided to get a jump on the day by Nicole on the Sisterhood group.
