I guess I was just wondering if anyone else has been confused with regards to boosting their immune system and whether or not this can impact on alopecia.

Alopecia is a auto immune system disorder so would boosting your immune system make it worse? However typical unhealthy behaviour and traits are linked with lowering immune response -smoking, consuming junk food, no exercise etc.

I read that if you boost your immune system that autoimmune disorders would actually benefit from this because they are specific disorders that won't worsen if you increase the functioning of your immune system.

This is one really complex disorder. Also as anyone tried health kinesiology I have had two sessions and it feels great although it can take up to 18 sessions for hair growth and sessions are like 1 in 3-4 weeks. Definitely my favourite treatment-less monotonus than vitamins and less painful than those injections. I did find I had blockages and could have possibly stemmed from me breaking my hand by punching incorrectly; which is around the time I got alopecia I believe.

anyways, take care

I was concerned about this too but when my allergies flared to an out of control state I consulted an herbalist. She said the goal was to balance (not boost) the immune system. I have been taking Quercetin, Co-enzyme Q10 and lots of B for several monthes. My allergies are better and I feel better (hard to explain)...but I am not growing a ravishing head of hair...nor did I expect to.

Thanks for posting. The goal of balancing the immune system seems sensible. I have also been taking quercetin and b vitamins. Although regrowing hair remains the main goal for people I feel alopecia can be a result of numerous health issues and imbalances and if even just they are treated the well feeling is a achievement in itself.

Funny link dom. IMO drugs are not worth the resulting hazardous side effects. Overall health is key. Doctors do like to play trial and error with people sometime...

p.s. that chimp works out :)
