My hair has got alot worse lately , bigger patches
Do I shave all off ?? Don't know what to do , might look better than big patches.
Any advice ? X
I agree with Wise1, it is a personal choice that only you can make in the end. Since it is something you may be considering, you may want to join and read through the post of "Sisterhood of women who shave their heads"
Hope that helps and let us know what your final decision is!
Totally a personal choice that you can only really do when you are completely ready. I too got so sick of finding hair everywhere, looking in the mirror to see if spots grew or got bigger. Because this Alopecia is so connected to stress I think the best idea is to do what allows you to think about it least. For me that was being totally bald and accepting where I am right now. It was one of the hardest things I have done - and it took many times before I just did it! But it was worth it. Stay strong and listen to what will calm and balance you.
Best thing I ever did. It is easier to accept than to be patchy. I now look at the pics of me with patches and cringe and wonder what was I thinking. It was more about my ex than me though. It was so totally liberating. If going straight to completely bald is too much then shave but wear bandanas until you are ready..
I totally agree, shaving is such a personal decision. I, like Fiji think shaving is the best thing I ever did. The patchy "in-between" stage is so frustrating to me and to me looks worse than going bald. Don't fool yourself that shaving will mean your head will look smooth, if you are patchy the areas you would have hair will show up greyish, vs the bald areas which will be smooth. I like to call it my map of the world. Of course now I am sporting more a continent than a map as there are very few "hair" patches.
Best thing I ever did was to shave, and yes, easier to accept than huge patches. Definitely less traumatic than seeing loads of hair falling everywhere everyday too.
Totally a personal preference and choice, but I found it liberating.
