came to my little sister's house (49 yrs. old, not so little) to of course, do my bushy haired niece's hair.....i was wearing a new wig....much shorter and spikey, got good feedback at work and from friends. Upon seeing my new "do"...my sister gasped and put on such a theatrical scene of how she hated it and i looked like Farrah Fawcett on chemo.....she kept on telling me that she couldnt look at me and to get away from her......I couldn't believe how she carried on, i still had to stay and do my neice's hair....holding in the tears.....
Later, my sister came back in, red-eyed and apologized, but i snapped back at her saying, " It's not whether you like or dislike my wig......it was how mean you you verbalized it" Needless to say, we are not speaking. Best to let things cool down. Even loved ones can be so cruel

i guess so, Susan, she hasn't called me today and we talk every morning. I feel i must cool down before i speak to her. Us Scorpios are hot tempered and quick to retaliate, so maybe I should quit being so defensive. I really don't think my family knows the extent of my problem. I have hid the bald spots for 5 years. This last episode just wiped it clean!!!!! I have admitted it but havent shown anyone yet. I am so afraid they will freak.. Thanks

gosh are u a scorpio too? all 3 of us sisters are scorpios so u can only imagine how intense things can get. I will give her a few days to reflect as I am then we will haveus a talk. the older sister, even tho we are closer in age, has never been as close to me as my little sister(49) haha. is why this hurts. I did shoulder the pain for 4 years. you are so right. thankyou, bk

Because alopecia is not life threatening many people think it's nothing, no big deal. Until you tell them if it's no big deal, then you shave your head and see just how nothing it is. Then they change their tune.
