I'm usually not a mushy person, but I had to post this, mostly for women who are concerned about finding love with this condition. I developed AU a little over a year ago. I have been dating John since June. I told him pretty much right away about alopecia. He seemed fine with it. I slept in a wig with him, (which was itchy) because I wanted it to be a smooth transition. I didn't want to force it on him right away. I wore the wig to bed less than a month, and i said I can't wear it to bed anymore, and he said O.K. I STILL wear hoodies (even though he tells me I don't need to) to bed. Anyway, I talk about it a pretty good amount, and he is beyond supportive and he tells me all the time that he really doesn't mind. He reasearches with me, he even looks on this site with me. Today, he said, "You are so cute without hair". And it just hit me as to how wonderful that comment was. Nobody has ever said that to me before. So...just goes to show...there are good men out there and you can't let this crappy disease stop you from gettin one ; )

Lee, I'm truly happy for you that you're dating such a gentleman. I wish the two of you a lovetime of bliss, wisdom and prosperity and invite John to join Alopecia World's group called Men Who Don't Mind. :-)
