My wigs are trimmed and styled (and in one case resized; much easier than I had anticipated and much assisted by the support and advice of Meg and Thea - thank you so much!) and ready to go!

Can't say I was overly impressed with the hairdresser who did them, though. I was left waiting for 25 minutes - for which she didn't apologise - and then she was just a bit, well, offhand with me. I had expected someone who could empathise with hairloss, maybe be a bit supportive. But it was just like going to the hairdresser and, having had an absolutely amazing hairdresser back in Scotland, I could take or leave her, really. But anyway. They're trimmed and they fit more comfortably (thank god I can sew) and I love them. I'm going to wear the short one when I'm home over Christmas, but I might take the long one for its maiden voyage to my work christmas do tomorrow night.

Thank you to everyone who said such things about the previous photos and blog post; I've been a bit nervous at times about the whole wig thing and the compliments I've recieved have helped immeasurably. Thank you.

I particularly like the short 'do on you. You look quite pixieish with just a bit of an edge. Have a Happy Christmas :-)

Oh, thank you everyone! I wore the longer one to my work christmas party and everyone wanted to touch it and said very nice things. I did have to ask that the humungous candelabra affair on the table be moved down away from my lovely new hair, though!

Emily, I got them from an afro beauty shop here in Bristol. I'm quite looking forward to trying on some blonde and redhead ones too, but that'll have to wait til I get my NHS prescription next month and visit whoever the local supplier is.

Thank you! What brand? One is Vanessa, the other Shake'n'Go. I think. I cut the labels out as they itched like the very devil.
