Hi Jada, I am good thanks. Well to answer your questions, yes it does get hard sometimes and there are times when I feel really insecure and think that my bf will leave me because of my condition. I do not have my eyebrows tatooed because I can't be bothered to be honest hehe. Having alopecia is hard, I can tell you that much. Sometimes I wondered why this happened to me but every since young I used to tell myself that because no one is perfect and if I had hair I would be perfect haha. It helped get me through my teenage years :) I feel lucky now that I have found alopeciaworld. When times get tough, I login to alopeciaworld and talk to other alopecians. It's good to know that I am not alone in this. People can be cruel where I am from, most people think I have cancer and one girl who did not like me told other people that I have leukemia and I will die in 6 months. It is hard but you will get through so these people do not matter. Life is too short! :)
Hey Jade, yes I have alopecia Areata (18 years) , I was totalis for 5 years and then some grew back. I have not have full hair growth, but have grown about 80% back and then it would start to fall in other area. Unfortunately it is a unpredictable condition and that is why the dermatologist are vague, because they really don't know. Let me know if you have any other questions.
Hi Jade, Nice to meet you. You had such a beautiful hair~! I know it's not easy...my hair was as long as your hair...
The most important thing to do when trying accupunture treatment is to find a good one. Do some research, the best way is to ask around. Once you have found one, make an appointment and explain your situation. He or she will know what to do next. Usually, you have to drink medicine along with the treatment... but I think it depends. I believe the accupunture will work as long as the roots are still alive. It doesn't hurt as much as it looks, so don't worry about the pain. The session lasts about an hour, so make sure you have enough time before you visit. I hope this works for you...if you have any more questions, please let me know~!!
Hi Jade, I wanted to take this opportunity to welcome you to Alopecia World. I have been living with Alopecia Areata since 1991 and know full well the struggle it can be. I look forward to getting to know you. Cheryl, Co-founder
Hi Jade,
I know how hard it can be. I have had alopecia for about 30 years. After I became the spokesperson for the National Alopecia Areata Foundation, a lot of women were needing my help and support, so I wrote a book called, "If Your Hair Falls Out, Keep Dancing!" It might make you feel better. Check it out on my page -- and let me know how else I can help.
