thanks for the comment jeanne.. i'm recieving injections once a month as well but more is coming out the filling in and i have 3 spots on my head.. the first seen late last year has hairgrowth on it's own.. but the other two are still shedding and even with the shots.. it feels like the hair loss is coming from all over not just the active spots.. i'm still learning to accept is why i love reading the stories of others.. which i wish acceptance would come faster for me.. it's def having an affect on myself and my family.. how has it been for you to go from AA to AU so quickly... i need words from the wise.. :)

xoxo

Hi Jeanne, nice family photos. Thanks for the friend request, the think positive is very positive and sweet. It's weird because that sounded like a remark my daugher (has AA) said one day with the shedding "I wish it would just all come out" she's ready for the wigs, just recently got a fall piece and loves it. have a blessed day. Oh yeah, I write poetry and short stories too, I wrote my first story when I was in the second grade, I won an award and it was published in the local paper. Nothing published since then...

Hi Jeanne, welcome to alopeciaworld! What a coincidence, my nickname is Bird, lol, my brothers nicknamed me when I was a little girl. It has stuck and at 52, most of Harrisburg knows me as Bird. We are namesakes, lol! Our alopecia started around the same time in life too, now if you were born in December, I'm going to be spooked, lol! Stay blessed and come join us at Sisterhood of Women Who Have Shaved Their Heads and National Bald Out Day!

Hello and welcome, Jeanne!
Boy, I know how hard alopecia can be; I have had it for about 30 years. After I became the spokesperson for the National Alopecia Areata Foundation, a lot of women were needing my help and support, so I wrote a book called, "If Your Hair Falls Out, Keep Dancing!" It might help...you can find out more on my page -- and it's available on this site under "Bookshelf." Let me know if there's anything else I can do!
LeslieAnn
