Dear Lacy-
You are an amazingly strong and well spoken woman. You are NOT your hair and you ARE beautiful. Alopecia is difficult to cope with and accept at any age, but I think it must be harder for those that are younger. Keep expressing what you feel--it is normal to feel as you feel. But don't stop living. There is a big, wide, wonderful world out there and hair is NOT required to take part in it. Please don't let your hair, or lack of it, define you.
Best wishes,
C

Hi Lacy, I think you are very brave to show your self on here and tell it like it is- I have lost all my head hair it started last august and am just starting to lose brows and lashes too .... I am gutted.. I am a hairdresser and have to listen on to everyone moaning about their hair all day long..... they really don't know how lucky they are! Wearing Wigs sucks , drives me nuts.
Having Alopecia is so tough, and as Cathy said (above ) it must even tougher for someone as young as you. I think you are amazing to speak about it so honestly , and you still look totally gorgeous to me - Stay strong- and don't go to the dark side too often! It's rubbish there!
lots of love L xx
I could not of said it better myself, you said all that I feel inside but cannot put into words, it moved me to tears.
What a beautiful person you are inside and out.
I also lost all hair body and head, eyelashes and eyebrows, it all grew back but like you fell out again after about 1 month and I am now minus all hair again for over a year and a half.
I try not to think too much or expect too much anymore but that doesnt lessen the pain. so thank you to someone else who feels as I do
much love to you and stay strong. Liz Bell

Thank you for sharing your story. You are a brave and lovely young woman.
I have lost all the hair on my head and body. I have alopecia universalis and it
can be overwhelming at times. I continue to remind myself that I am so much more than my hair. Most of the time, I'm OK, but there are times ... I feel sad. We are all much, much more that our hair. Hearing from the many people on "Alopecia World" gives me strength and reminds me that I am not alone. Diane B
you are so beautiful - just beautiful!
You look fabulous. Love your eyebrows!
Lacy Jane...you are a wonderful person and have so much strength. I have had AU for about 5 months now...its been hard. I have cried many many tears..but decided...to accept what I cannot change. I am hoping as time goes on it will get easier. I am wearing wigs but am looking for a cooler alternative for supper. Did you lose your eyelashes and eyebrows? I think that was the hardest for me. I send my blessings for you.
oops meant summer...haha
