Everyone who knows me personally know that I "march to the beat of a different drum". But for years I was creating a problem by wearing weaves and braids which caused a condition called "Traction Alopecia". I finally decided to let the hair bonding, quick gluing weaves go! I prayed on it and of course God answered and said "I love you" no matter how much hair you have on your head. As my grandmother used to say, "Its not what's on top of your head but what's inside of your head". I do work in "Corporate America" and will still have to do the "Lace wigs" (Thank God for those!) But in my own element, I'm letting it all "HANG OUT"! Now, I'll be known as the "Bald-headed" Photographer! LOL!!! Naw...but whatever you want to call me, I'm still Dee and I'm Happy being Me!!!! Thank you Lord for WISDOM!!!

Thank You Annette...It is indeed an epidemic and I feel that I should let everyone that comes in my midst know of this problem that affects so many of us. I wish that I had someone in my life that could have shared this epidemic that we ourselves are causing. I have posted this video on Facebook and You tube also. Hopefully many will see it and educate each other on not just "Traction Alopecia" but Alopecia in general. We have got to learn to not be ashamed of alopecia but to embrace it so that we can move on and enjoy the life we are given.

Gorgeous! Women like you are helping us REDEFINE beauty. I really believe that someday soon more women with hair loss will feel FREE to make the choice to get on with life with their heads covered OR uncovered. Let it all hang out, indeed! Beautiful video - thank you!

Dee thanks for the video. The words you spoke are so true. We have to learn to embrace who we are and move on. I am so enjoying me. I took off my wig for the second time in June. The first time was about two years ago but I don't think I was quite ready. This time I am ready willing and able. I have more confidence and feel more secure in who I am. I love being different!!!! Thank you for sharing your photo's.

Isn't it fun Joye! Once I learned how to shave my head and then with the help of Linda, I'm getting rid of some ugly razor bumps, I'm enjoying the heck out of this baldness! LOL! I decided when I came out with the truth that I would come out big! I posted this same video on my FB (Facebook)page and also on You tube. I had over a total of about 75 comments on FB, I was amazed! Everyone loved it, including men! But, I didn't do it for anyone's acceptance, I did it to free myself from the mental chains that I had over me, that was growing heavier by the minute. The looks I get make me hold my head up a little higher each and everyday that I expose my baldness. As I said and as everyone else on "Alopecia world" has said, its learning to love ourselves no matter what! You are truly a blessing and such a beautiful young woman, keep sharing it with the world!

You said it!!!! The freedom and feeling of liberation is amazing. I've been working on holding up my bald head for two years now, and you know what? It pretty much stays up there by itself now!

I love what you said about your "way out"...so many times in my life, ppl have quoted that verse about God will not give us more than we can handle, but they would always leave off the most important part..."But HE will provide for you a way out!" AMEN!!! You are so beautiful! Love your video, thanks so much for sharing!!

Thanks Dee for the video! It was truly beautiful, just as you are. I hope and pray that one day I can be as confident and secure as you. :)
