Will has changed the rules. The bulling is hidden behind the humor a lot of times, when the school, when adults... not everything is valid. People has to defend from attacks (physical or verbal defense is not the question). Thanks to Will, the world has learned something else.

Frankly, Cate, your comment about a war going on in the Ukraine right now is kind of puzzling.  I think most of us know that.  But I fail to see the connection between alopecia areata and the war in Ukraine.  Of course you can always find someone who is worse off!  That's not the point.  It's been my experience that when someone tells you to put something into perspective, they usually mean THEIR perspective.  Sorry, but I don't care to run a race to the bottom by telling myself that their war is worse than my alopecia universalis.  I already know that.  But I also think it is cruel to use other people's hardships as a way of feeling good about myself.  No, I DO NOT JOKE ABOUT, my condition, as I don't find it to be a joking matter.  AND, YES, I AM A VICTIM--I am a victim of alopecia universalis.  We are all victims of something or other, and I don't see the word victim as a dirty negative word.  It simply means to me the we are the recipient of an unwanted action, even, or condition.  That, however, does not mean that I am a victim in general.  I don't see myself that way at all.  You claim that you "refuse" to be "victimized by your hair".  Don't understand that comment as well. It sounds like denial to me.  Then again, maybe you simply have an extraordinary control over your thoughts and feelings that most of us do not have.  But that's O.K., I guess we are all different.

Typical of the "Hey Look at Me - I'm a Star Awards" it is fake. All a big act from the Best Actor, his wife who is totally ok with her look, but feigned offense, and the MC who took a punch, but the show must go on and ad lib some funny quips and has everybody talking

Thanks, Cindie!   We will never ever make any progress with this very real disease unless we start demanding that it be taken seriously.  I think it's fair to say that we have all suffered enough with being dismissed by insurance companies, the healthcare industry and Big Pharma.  Maybe Will Smith did not handle it perfectly, but he did call Chris Rock out for his bad behavior, and it saddens and disappoints me that so many of our own members are actually criticizing Will Smith for that.  One thing is for sure--I doubt that Chris Rock will pull a stunt like that again.

@rj Im curious, how did you and Cheryl meet?  Did you know her before or after her AA?  It would be really inspiring and encouraging to hear the story of how you both came to be as a couple?

Chris Rock declined to press charges.  According to the LAPD.  I think it's gonna be a learning experience for everyone.  Comedians use comedy as an excuse for bad taste, and people they offend get tired of being the brunt of their jokes.  The 2 eventually was gonna clash.  No one thought it would be at a star studded event though
