I'm getting my hair cut on the 20th. I've decided to go with a super short pixie. I've been wearing my hair pulled back this week to get a feel for it. No hiding! I just went to the Wegman's and a woman smiled at me pointed to her head, and said " I like your hair." Yeah! Right now, there are a ton of women without hairloss getting undercuts and shaving off parts of their hair. When you "own" a look it becomes part of who you want to be. This is who we are. …

I'm interested in what coping rituals people use. I have a nightly bathroom mirror "face off" where I REALLY look at myself, and dare myself to be more than just "ok" with it. I'm considering some kind of undercut and just embracing it. I'm an aging, GEN X punk girl. I just want to stop hiding it all together, and just put it out there, right in everyone's face.

Love the blonde wig!! Where did you get this one? Looks very pretty on you
Thank you for your comment. It really made my day. I mostly have top of the ear (temple) area bald, so it might look like its a style, but still can't make pony tail... Anyways, I'm wearing human hair wig and feel confident. Sorry for the late reply, just not very socially active as I'm single mother and in full time employment.
But thanks again for your message:)
And
Hi Chris:
I've done all the 'fiber' hair concealers. They are ok, however, like you, I get the yucky black fingers if I were to touch my hair. When I wear my wig or extensions, as soon as I get home I just get it off of me as fast as I can. I really like the 3/4 one piece extensions. They are wonderful and not too pricey. Funny after all this time I keep trying to find the magic elixir.
Chris,
first of all, I would kill for your cheekbones. That being said, my coping mechanisms:
I go through the net to see if there are any new things out for bald women. I am not completely bald, just very sketchy.
I also had very dark hair that I loved. However, you could really see all the baldness so I have sort of a dark blonde/red cover now which basically doesn't look that good. I bought a 3/4 one piece of extension and that really helps. I know that getting upset every day was not good for me. I have my up days and my bad face.
you can enjoying the variety of wigs.
First of all, you have a beautiful face - awesome cheekbones, big soulful eyes, nice lips. I have AU and finally got my eyebrows tattooed by a top notch permanent cosmetic artist. Makes a big difference. I used to do the pencil, too, but it was uneven day after day. I lost 40 pounds on Weight Watchers, use light makeup, wear earrings and sometimes I think I look pretty cute.
Yes, I am in Pittsburgh. Great town. I laughed at your "yins" comment. Hilarious. Your pictures are quite cute... you really "camouflage" the hair loss really well. I am taking Plaquenil and doing the shots... Don't love it, but thought I'd try for a year. I've been losing hair for over 4 years... mostly above my ears and temples... now pushing back at hairline. I often wonder why some people's hair loss starts at the front hairline, and moves down towards the temples, while others starts above ears, and moves up toward temples and front hairline... Odd. I'm still able to hide it for the most part... but I do glue in two small pieces above my ears... which gives me a little more "boost" where the loss is. Did you say you lost 2 inches in 2 years?
Thanks for the quick response. You said you lost two inches - but still are able to pull off "wearing" your own hair. I hate to ask - but is there any way you could send a picture of your hairstyle? I am trying my best to figure out a cut that will work w/ my loss. I've lost about an inch & 1/2 above my ears and at temples - and it is pushing back on the front hairline as well. I have managed w/out a hair "piece", but really would like to see other styles to give me piece of mind - or just some ideas. Your help would be appreciated. Do you mind? Thank you. This was me in March... I actually had a decent hair day... I have a shorter bob cut, but it is getting harder at the bang area to hide... 443071.JPG
