Hi Glen. You're a good lookin' bloke... enjoy!!
Thanks .We all look the same>>>>>LOL Thanks and be talking with ya
My daughter suffers from AA at age 27, she has lost literally all the hair on her scalp. This has been upcoming for over a year now and she kept the belief that it was not actually happening, not to her, she had the most beautiful long thick silky hair, every womans envy. Not that she ever flaunted it, but so terribly misses it now that it's gone. When she went to a dermatologist last week and he gave her the overall outlook and told her that it is most likely a permanent thing that she would have to live with deal with and accept, it tore her up. Fortunately, this daughter of mine is amazingly resiliant, lucky enough to have a man who loves her for her, and nothing else but her, and family who will support, love, comfort, listen and pray for any good news in her life, whether it is regarding regrowth of new hair, or that she is healthy, happy and one of the lucky people in life that don't have to worry about whether or not the condition that has overcome her thoughts and feelings about herself, is not a condition that will end her life which has been the case in too many young women and mens and childrens life. I have to thank whom I will call Grandfather, some may call him God, others have their own names for the higher power in their life, whoever he is to you and yours, thank him for letting you survive.

I have not gone through the loss of my own hair, but as you can imagine by my daughter loosing hers, is as hard on me as if i was loosing my own. I would give up every hair on my body if she could just have hers back. I know this isn't possible but that is how deeply and sincerely I love my daughter. I would gladly give up my life for my girl as many mothers will. She deserves better, but life is not always fair. One of my favorite sayings in life starts out with the phrase . . . . "and acceptance is the answer to all my problems today . . . . " when read with a curious heart and a determination to live life to the fullest, this caption, is actually a phrase from an Alcoholics Anonymous book page 417 (when read in full), pretty much is the solution for living life to it's fullest, regardless of what it hands you. You learn to deal with it, accept it and move on. There are too many things in life to be happy about to spend hours, days, weeks, months or years letting the unfortunate things in life make you bitter. Loosing your hair, whether it be patches, full scalp or entire body sucks, plain and simply put, it is devastating. It doesn't matter what age you are when it happens, it just sucks, but life does go on, and will go on. As with anything in life that is beyond our control, if we accept the fact that we can't change it or do anything about it, we carry on. It may be a little different plan than we initially had for ourself, but we carry on. I have to add one more thing. My daughter has never, EVER been happier in life than she is right now. She has the self confidence, the self esteem and the want for a full life that, believe it or not, she didn't have before this happened. It is something that I thank Grandfather for, and I hope that anyone who reads this will find the same comfort in life that she has.
Hi Glen, I'm new here also and already these people are so kind and helpful. This is a good place to be. I hope you also find your comfort zone here if no where else for the moment this is the place to be free, talk and ask.
