Hi everybody,

Well I am loosing my eye brows again... grrr.  I lost them once before when I was first diagnosed with AA, but then they came back and never fell out again until now..  My eye brows are really patchy and I am having a hard time trying to draw them on without looking fake. Does anybody have any suggestions on what to use to achieve a natural appearance?  Should I just shave the rest of what I have left of my eye brows?   I could somewhat handle my hair falling out again,   but not this.... It's going to take me like 2 hours.  lol  to get ready in the morning.

Thanks everbody.

Make sure the eye brow pencil is very sharp and not too dark, also I know there are eye brow powders (more like eye shadow that is applied with a brush) you might want to go to a make-up counter like mac at your nearest Macy's or something and ask them for some help. I know a lot of people have gotten them tattooed on, so that may be an option if they seem like they are going to be gone for a while. I actually still have really bushy eyebrows *knock wood* and one eye with long lashes—nevermind about the other one, so I hope some of those who have lost their eyebrows can help you out more. Oh and if your wig has bangs you don't have to worry about your brows being so "perfect" no one will see them anyway.
Dominique thanks for your help!!!
Hi Becca,

I wore bangs for years to avoid dealing with drawing on brows, I know I was never happy with how they looked. Then I found out about these false eyebrows that headcovers unlimited sells... they are awesome. They are like little tiny eyebrow shaped wigs, and you just glue them on. I use their glue they recommend on their website. It works fine. They don't last forever, but generally a set will last me a few months before it starts to have hair break off (and I tend to abuse them... someone who went easier on them would probably have them last even longer.)

I can usually leave them on for a few days without regluing them, I can't wipe them off. And best of all it takes less than a minute to glue them back on when the glue is wearing out. I even wear them in the pool and they haven't budged an inch! It sounds a little silly to say, but the difference those things have made in my life has been pretty dramatic. You can't tell they're not real even if you are staring at my eyebrows an inch from my face. Seriously!

I try to recommend these to everyone!! I had thought about tattoos, but these fake brows look way better to me than the tattoos.
Just wanted to add that I regularly get compliments from non-alopecians telling me my eyebrows look amazing and asking what I do to keep them so perfect. These people have no clue that they aren't real.
Eva,

Thanks soo much for the info.. I will have to try that out..
hi i was wondering whats the website to these fake eyebrows let me know thanks!
Just so everyone can see... I buy the eyebrows from headcoversunlimited.com. The eyebrows are great, I will warn you they have slow shipping and not that great customer service though. If I found another place that sold them I would switch, but I haven't seen them sold elsewhere.
To get your eyebrows and eyelashes to grow back in and keep them, try Latisse. You have to get a prescription for it from a dermatologist. I have had AU for about 30 years, and for the past two months I've been using Latisse on my eyelids and my eyebrow area. Last night I found some hairs growing in my eyebrow area and my lower eyelid on one side.
I'm getting my prescription refilled!

I can't wait til Latisse comes to Canada!
I use MAC eye shadow colour: copperplate matte with their angled eye brow brush. I draw them on so fast, its amazing how easy it has become for me. Start by putting them on lightly and just go back over them to make them darker. It takes a little practice. I sometimes re-do them during the day aswell. freehand looks more natural than a stential that is perfect in my opinion.

When I first starting dating my boyfriend he didn't even know i drew them on til i told him lol =p

I would also like to try those false eyebrows! I never knew they existed!
My makeup table is off to the side so my husband has no reason to go by that turf. He knows all about bgdl brow makeup, but he just never gives makeup of any kind a second thought...just appreciates the end result I guess. When I had hair I would have to do something really drastic for him to notice any change...that kind of guy. Recently it just dawned on him for the very first time that he couldn't figure out how someone could actually make eyebrows with powder. The whole notion of compressed powder is nowhere on his radar screen. Guys just love us, love the look and rarely care how we get there. Mystery is nice....score one for us girls ;-)
