Hi all,
I just wanted to post a discussion on favourite hair products that I and many of my clients and alopecian friends have found to be amazing at keeping our hairpieces soft and silky (even during the heat of summer and dryness of winter). I am always up for trying something new to my regime so I was hoping to share information.

Here are a few of my favorite products that I have used

1) "Pureology" Line of Shampoos and Conditioners - leaves hair soft and silky without residues left behind

2) Moroccan Oil - Amazing product that adds shine to hair especially during the middle of the week in between shampoos. Also conditions the hair and does not feel like product is in your hair. Not Greasy....nice change. Plus it smells amazing! They also have shampoo/conditioner, hairspray and masks...I'm guessing just as great.

3)"It's a 10" miracle leave-in conditioner and "It's a 10" miracle conditioning mask...AMAZING!!!! Made my oldest hairpiece look and feel like new again! I love, love, love this stuff. The leave in conditioner can also be used to protect against curling and straightening irons as well as it helped alleviate some tangles at the neck area during scarf season.

4) CHI Iron Guard - a thermoprotector against curling and straightening irons. It's good but I find sometimes feels like product is left in my hair.

I hope some of this helps and I would love if you all could add the products that have worked for you and your hairpieces.

Cheers!

I have used the Keratase and loved it as well. It kept my hair silky soft. Great add. This Wen product has me curious...

Hi

I read somewhere here last week that 'Wen' is a good product for hair care for their wigs. I think this would be helpful for processed and unprocessed hair. I don't personally know of the product but am sure someone will come on and tell us about it.

Right - I use it as my wig maker said that is all she recommends to use on the units she makes. It leaves the hair feeling super soft. She told me to hold the wig under running water with your hand underneath it like it would be resting on your head. Wet it and then use the wen. Then use a super wide tooth comb to run the Wen through the hair and rinse. You can repeat if you have a lot of product in your hair. Then lay the wig down in a towel and blog dry. Leave it in the towel for a few minutes then comb the wig and place on a wig block to dry. I have shampooed my wig this way for two years and it looks as good as the day I purchased it.

I just bought some Wen on eBay to try it out. I saw the infomercial on TV and it sounded good. I've always used Kerasilk products on my human hair wigs, but I'm always looking for better options.

I usually get it from ebay too as I find it is so much less expensive but at times one of the shopping channels will have a special (hsn or qvc) for a certain scent and it is even less at that time : )

Hi

I didn't put what we use, I use Schwarskopf for my daughter wigs. Her hair always looks great.

What a great post. I am super new to this whole thing, and just got a HH wig that I want to keep nice, I tried the It's a 10 leave in conditioner, and love it too, I've only washed my hair piece once, and felt like I ruined it, of course I didn't but after using the leave in conditioner I found it made a big difference! I have heard about the Moroccan oil, there is a product line that I heard about but was wondering which kind you used? The one that I was told about I looked up their site on the net, and they only sell out of salons, and none are close to me, could not buy on line that I saw. I did see some products in the drugstore, that are Moroccan oil, so just wondering which you've tried. I need all the help I can get...lol

Hi
I have used kerastase in the past which was great for my hair.
I now use morroccan oil shampoo, conditioner and oil for that extra shine. it keeps my hair looking great and in tip top condition too. Its not cheap but as i only wash my hair once a week it lasts for ages.

Kerastase for my European hair wig. I also have this oil wax from Kerastase, and its amazing, it really protects my hair. The only downside of this wax is the hair looks shiny and oily. I only use it on tips. Its called elixir ultime
