Hello!  Has anyone's alopecia progressed from sides of head and bang area, receding backwards?  If so, have you had any treatment successes?

Please join the frontal fibrosing alopecia group. If u email me I have an 8 page fact sheet I can send u.

Thank you.  I would love the info you have.  I have tried to "join" the group, but have not figured out how to do so.

I was successful in connecting with the group, so you can disregard my last sentence.  I still would be interested in the fact sheet you referenced.  Thank you!!

I would welcome your fact sheet. Please tell me how to access it. Thanks.

Hello

I'd like to join the group.  I have recently been diagnosed with FFA and would like to find out as much as I can about the condition.  Also I'm currently searching the internet to find the best shampoo and conditioner and would appreciate some recommendations.

Kind Regards

Hi I've recently  been told I have FFA and since July'14 have been using Betnovate Scalp lotion  0.1% w/w (Betamethasone) and Protopic 0.1% Ointment (Tacrolimus Monohydrate on alternate days but I haven't noticed any improvement and think I've lost more hair from my hair line. My dermatologist wants me to take Finistride but I'm not sure what the risks are for females to take this male product. Anybody got any advice on this? Tks Ger

Hi Ger

You were diagnosed around about the same time as me.  If you contact Debs (first poster on this page) and ask for her Factsheet...its very helpful and informative!

Mine started in July and hairline has receded an inch to an inch and a half around forehead and sideburns areas. I have been taking Finasteride every other day and applying topical lotion to hairline around my face (glucocorticoid 0.05%) twice daily (morning and night). I did that for 2 mos. but FFA was still active so doc gave me injections into my hairline around the face. Sorry, Not sure exactly what she injected. Since then I have continued with the previous routine and I do get some itchiness but feel the condition has improved somewhat ....definitely not as red and don't believe I have had any further hair loss. In 2 mos time I go for more injections if the FFA is still active, which I believe it is, unfortunately.

I have taken Finesteride for 8 years and it has helped me have some regrowth on the frontal part, never on the sides, but it helps me keep what I have.  So far it has been good and no other problems have arisen.

If you are young and you still want to have children, it is better to ask your family doctor.

Hi Debs,

I was diagnosed with FFA 2 years ago and would be really interested to read your fact sheet. Could you please let me know how to go about doing this? Thank you! Fiona

I've just found this page; but how do I find the FFA group?  I'd like to join and for sure get your fact sheet. I just sent you a friend request.

Yes, my daughter did and she wrote about it. Alopecia and Wellness on Amazon. You can email her as well on that website. We are trying to help as many people as possible. Jan
