It took me a year from first spot till I lost everything. When did you have your first spot and when were you officially AU?

Hi, I had my first spot in December 2018 and lost my last eyelash around July 2020 - and so 18-19 months for me.

Hi,

I had one spot in 2002. Then no spots until 2014. One spot in 2014, one in 2016 - all grew back. One spot in October 2017 progressed to AU in June 2018.

Did it ever grow back after that? My daughter has had aa for 8 years and its getting worse. That is my biggest fear that it will not turn into A.U.They say A.U and A.T. are rare but i do not think so.

,I am taking Tofa now and all hair grew back. I started in January 2019 and in 6 months I had a pixie cut. Now my hair is a shoulder length.

Your daughter can try Tofa if she is old enough. It has some serious side effects.

I had my first two patches (that I found) while I was on a cruise ship in the caribbean.  Within 3 months I was AU.  Worst summer of my life for sure.  However, I have a full head of hair now and most of my body hair with Tofacinix for the past 18 months. There is hope!

How long do you have to take it ? and what if you stop taking it will it fall out again?I am so happy for you that you had full regrow.

Kimmy68,

I noticed my hair "stabilizing" in terms of shedding after about 2 months of being on Tofacinix. I believe if I were to stop taking it, all of my hair would fall out again.  I am doing okay on this drug with no side effects other than slightly elevated cholesterol.  I plan to stay on it until an FDA treatment is approved which will hopefully be a more targeted and safer drug.  Be well.

I  had my first  spot in May, 2012.  By August, 2014, it was gone and nothing's returned.  Lots of treatments during that time to try to keep my hair or regrow it, but after I shaved it off in 2014, I rarely have any signs of hair.

I got my first spot in 2009 and become almost AU in 2012

My first spot was back in 1994 which regrowth a year after. I have had periodic episodes of shedding and regrowth afterwards. Only after giving birth to my first child 15 years later that I experienced AU. It took only 4 weeks to loose everything. About half of my hair grown back 3 years later,as well as my eyebrows and eyelids. Ever since then, I’m considered AT as my hair never fully returned back.
