Hi! I really wanted to post this information in case in it can help anyone.

I was sent a European hair unit (which cost me many thousands of dollars) that in a month turned into a dry, scratchy, tangled mess. It was unable to style. I just cried and cried, tried product after product, but nothing seemed to help.

Anyway, I vowed that if I did find something to help, I would post in online. So here's what I did:

1. First I tried the clorox/ammonia treatment. It did work for a week.

2. Then i found the miracle cure. It was CHI Silk Infusion. Plus I also mix it with Biosilk Silk Therapy Cure Soyeuse. The first three ingredients for both products are the same.

Here they are: cyclopentasiloxane
cyclotetrasiloxane
dimethiconol

(I hope I've spelled them properly - they are very small print)

For all I know, there are other products out there that list the same three ingredients and might also work.

At any rate, I was in the darkest of despair before I found these two products. Now, I just slather these two products on the unit after I've washed it and the hair has shine and can be styled. Thank heaven!!

If anyone knows of other products that help, please post them!!!

Praying that everyone will have a wonderful new year-Ann

Thanks so much! My hair is a mess and this is just what I have been looking for. Do you put the products on while it is still wet after washing or when it is dry? Thanks! Katie

Wherever did you get such a unit that turned into such a mess after a month? I would be livid. What is the stuff you are mentioning and where do you get it?

I first put the stuff on after I washed and rinsed the hair, but while it is still wet. It has a miraculous effect. Then I noticed that if I didn't wash my hair for three days, the hair became dry again. So I've tried it on my hair while completely dry and it ALSO seems to have a wonderful effect. Amazingly, the hair becomes soft and silky and I can fix it as I want. I am so relieved, you have no idea!! It would have been so difficult to spend thousands of dollars to buy a new unit.

As for where I got them, I got them through Ebay. However, I have since noticed there are other outlets, usually in the more expensive hair product stores.

I think the key is the ingredients. I am now checking out the ingredients on everything I see, in hopes of finding even more products.

If anyone finds anything else with these ingredients as the first three ingredients listed, let us all know!

Or there may be other treatments that work, who knows? I just hope we can pool our information.

Happy New Year to everybody, Ann

I've not had any problems with my European hair but thank you for posting what does help. How devastating it would be to have spent so much on a hair system to have it be ruined. Did you contact the manufacturer? Just wondering if the offered any help, you would think that anyone offering high quality hair pieces would stand behind them. Glad to hear you've had success.

I have ordered from them before, and the European hair they sent before was lovely. But the latest unit has been a disaster. So I called them up and told the owner about my problems, and how awful the hair was. I mentioned returning the hair. I believe that was what made the owner tell me about these products. On my own, I think I could have tried hundreds, maybe hundreds upon hundreds, of products before I found these two.

I would be very interested in hearing from other people and hearing about other products that could help. Or just hearing how others have dealt with disasters like this.

hi,

i use some spray in treatment in a little blue bottle called "nearly natural" i bought it from adventhair.com website and you spray it in then add your usually conditioner ..leave it 2 minutes and it restores the hair on your system. Its very good stuff. How it works i do not know :)

Most shampoos are formulated to remove oils from the scalp (which would dry out a hairpiece/wig). Some shampoos and conditioners are formulated for dry, colored or permed hair. So if you purchase quality products (shampoos & conditioners for wig) from a salon or salon supply store, you can get good result.

Hair washing/caring properly is most important to keep them smooth and manageable. Otherwise they can tangle or shed.

There are many products that help to seal the moisture temporarily into the hair, unfortunately as you are finding, they need to be reapplied as they are basically cosmetic fixes and will wear or wash away.
Some of my suppliers are saying European hair is increasingly difficult to find and are moving toward Indian. Some less reputable vendors use poor quality hair but infuse it with conditioning agents and sell as European hair. One vendor suggests that you spray with oil based products BEFORE washing. I have done this and it does seem to protect the hair. That product line is Ionix, available from Hair Direct.
Nearly natural is also available at Hair Direct and other retailers.
