Hello, I am new to alopecia and new to wigs. I bought a synthetic Norico wig because I liked how it looked much more than the HH ones I tried on, none were long enough for me. But it is soooo itchy. Sometimes it is okay for a few hours and then it gets unbearable. I don't know what the inside is made of, but I am looking at it and it has a thicker black material with the little holes in it, the front part however is all closed off black material, perhaps what is causing the itching. I have tried wig caps, as well as thicker men's wave caps and like I said it works for a little bit and then is horrible itching.
For those experienced with wigs, would I be better off with a human hair or monfilment or whatever it is type of lining? Advice please!!!

I have two synthetics and wear a wi grip with them, they do seem a little itchy, and I am rready to take it off when I get home from work, but I just bought a fortune human hair mazzali bliss and it is so much more comfortable. It has a full in cap, doesn't have the holes in it and a velvety top. I am still wearing the wi grip with it, as it just seems so much more comfy to me. I have just ordered a comfort one as well for wearing during the week, I haven't received it yet, but hoping it is just as comfy. Hope that you find something that works for you, it is all trying different things until you find what is comfy for you.
When I first got my Alopecia 5 years ago now I was in the same boat. By five o clock my hairpiece was off as I was itchy and often had little red bumps on my scalp. I switched to a Freedom Wig and haven't looked back. It has a smooth silicone base that has the ends of the hair sealed into the cap so it prevents itching. All that is contact with the scalp is the smooth silicone…absolutely ingenious! It honestly changed my life and my confidence and I can wear my hair well into the night without thinking of it. I believed in the product so much that I am now a representative up here in Canada for Freedom. This by no means is meant to be a push for our product but an honest testimonial to the fact that I am no longer conscious that I am wearing a wig anymore due to the comfort level. It makes me happy to help others with alopecia find a solution for their hair loss but I just needed to share why I switched hairpieces and comfort was number one. All the best in your search.
Warm Wishes,
Jenn
Try buying a thin skin perimiter wig they are really comfortable. I moved over to them when I became allergic to wig adhesives.
