It's a personal decision to shave or not. I am Alopecia Universalis so not an option. I got a Foleaa, I love it! I am wearing it in my profile picture. I do not have buyers remorse. It is a huge investment.

When you say huge investment . I'm guessing financially ? :/ if so do you mind sharing the approximate costs ? Thank you so much
please friend me and lets communicate offline. I do mean financially but well worth it.

Buying a human hair wig is not something to go into lightly, there are many issues and concerns that should be addressed before purchase. This is a totally unregulated industry and many out there will claim their hair is good, European, Russian, whatever but in fact it is not. If you purchase something that is poor quality it may matt up when shampooed and your investment is basically down the drain. In fact, recently I purchased a human hair topper from a major name and it will go back because the quality was so poor.
The fact is that the extension market has placed a great deal of stress on finding good quality human hair and it is getting hard to find and very expensive. One of the major distributers told me last week that they will be implementing the only "certified" remy hair products on the market because they want to be differentiated from all the junk hair out there. The products are not inexpensive because of the processes used to harvest, color and make the wigs and toppers.
Shaving IS a personal decision, but one should know that wearing hair 24 hours a day dramatically shortens the life of the product worn and can cause further hair loss if the new hair is bonded or taped. In fact, no manufacturer will guarantee the time a piece will last if it is worn 24/7.
There are many good options and one s
hould invest some time to learn about each, then decide which product suits their needs best. BTW, there are many lovely synthetics that look better than human and wear very well and are much less expensive...

Hi

This is my view on human hair wigs. There are only two types of human hair...

Processed, which has varying degrees of processing and from what I have seen and read it is very difficult to tell what is what with processed hair. Processing is processing whether it is done a lot or a little it will all effect the end product. I feel that processed hair is never as durable and often doesn't move or look like people's growing hair. It should be a cheaper option for the end user as the manufacturing of processed hair wigs is far easier and less time consuming...for some reason this sometimes isn't the case though, so be careful.

Unprocessed virgin human hair, takes a very skilled wig maker/manufacturer to work with this type of hair. It reacts and looks like people's growing hair because that is what it is. This is the type of hair that I understand fully as I help people in New Zealand with Freedom Wigs and that is the only hair used in a Freedom Wig. Sadly it is expensive but in my mind very worthwhile.

Chris is absolutely spot on with her explanation around 24 hour wear.

Hope this helps in your search for something that suits you.

I too had thin hair but then I started using hair extensions and they have really helped me to add volume to my hair.
Hi,
When you say your hair is thinning, is it all over? My hair loss is thinning hair all over, and I have a decent front hairline so I ended up buying a human hair topper. I chose this as my hair loss doesn't require a wig (yet). I find the ease of clipping in a topper is great for my lifestyle. I even work out in it.

Human hair can be quite a bit of maintenance, just like good old regular hair.
Just to compare prices, mine was about $2000.00,and the quality is very good.
But now that I've learned so much more about both human and synthetic hair, I believe my next piece will be a synthetic wig. This is due to my hair loss still progressing, and I want to prepare for needing a full wig.
I also know that there are some great synthetics out there, and I'm curious to try.

If you purchase a good quality human hair wig, expect that it will cost quite a lot, but it should last at least a few years with good care.
My topper is expected to last up to 5 years... We'll see :)

Take care!
That's very interesting I have the same problem, I'm going to look into that a topper sounds perfect and being that you said you excercise in it is even better :) I appreciate your comment on my post, I am going to try this :)

hi, I'm not sure what type of human hair, lace silicone combination wig you have. I would suggest that you talk to the people that sold the wig to you and explain the issues you are having, as there may be a genuine issue with your particular wig. I like to use clip in hair extension, its my hair extensions: http://www.hairplusbase.com/30-inch-4-medium-brown-clip-in-remy-hum...
