Hey AW.

I'm 15 years old male in grade 10 and living in Toronto. I was diagnosed with AA about 2 months ago.
It started with one golf ball sized spot at the back of my head with another spot at the side of my head about the size of a quatre. i also have long hair.
Since then i am still losing hair. Not much as clumps of hair but strands of hair here and there plus new very small sized spots have appearred.
I've been getting cortisone shots for about 2 months now. its been a stressfull time lately...
does anyone get like a tickly feeling? not a tingle or a burning feeling more of a tickle. like if you were to rub a feather on your scalp. thats what i have been experience, does that mean im gonna lose more hair?

My hair loss is quite slow compared to what ive read about other people on the site, and its not that noticeable but still...

do you guys expect me to lose all my hair? i mean most of my spots are quite small, most would probably bee an inch in diameter. im afaid that all of it will go.

most members are woman and getting a wig is a viable option for them but im a male, i dont think i can wear one. i think im just gonna have to go bald if it comes to that.

also AU and AT are the most rare of the diesease but it seems many members have it. im confused? why so many members have AU and AT, thats not very encouraging.

hope and pray for me

Hi Kevin. Alopecia is completely and absolutely unpredictable. I think people that have more severe cases of it (e.g. aU and AT) are looking for support and thusly turn to AW more than those with mild cases. Hang in there. Chances are good that you will have regrowth. Either way you will be okay. Wish I could give you a better answer. We are here for you.... :)

Lol thanks for the positivty. i understand what you mean, i was just in a panic to see so many people have it. Your answer gave me a warm feeling inside, like hope and relief. <3

Hi, I agree with cindy Babs that this site attracts the people with the most severe cases. This is a good site to vent and ask questions. It is a really unpredictable condition and hopefully the shots will work for you.
