I have received a lot of interest from others on here in my involvement with the Xeljanz trials at Yale.

I thought it would be nice for everyone if I documented my progress on here.

Xeljanz is a Jak3 inhibitor and is believed to work with alopecia by turning off the distress signal relayed by the hair follicle to the attacking immune system which is the cause of the hairs falling out. Xeljanz comes in a strength of 5mg per pill and a full box contains 60 tablets. The recommended dosage for arthritis is 1 tablet in the morning and another in the evening each day.

The trial is set in a series of stages and there are requirements before participating. These include monthly visits and blood tests every 2 weeks. Dr Brett King is absolutely fantastic and is an inspiration to me. His positivity and enthusiasm gives me the much needed hope I have craved for over a decade. I have been put on a low dose to start with which is 1 tablet every other day. My dosage has now been increased to 1 tablet every day and next month it could be increased to 2 tablets per day depending on the results.

I have completed my first month and have already noticed my alopecia has stabilised . I have not lost any existing hairs. In addition to this I have seen little hairs growing in my chest area as well as eyebrows. Fingers crossed! To date, I have experienced no side effects.

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! Do you mind starting a discussion with that information? This will benefit everyone who has been wondering exactly WHERE IN TURKEY they can purchase Xeljanz. Thank you also for providing the name and address of the pharmacy. Can you include the price in American dollars also?

How did you get Xeljanz in Turkey?  Did you need a prescription?
Are you still selling the tablets?

Hi Empty Cloud, I love your monikor, it sounds like its American Indian. Lu391 provides the name, address and location of the pharmacy a few posts above this one. You DO NOT need a prescription in Turkey. The cost is around $1770 Turkish lira, which is around $560 euros. ADML, who started this discussion in 2014, had Pfizer verify that the Xeljanz was authentic. It comes in packets of 56 pills, versus 60 to a bottle in the U.S. Lu391 bought the Xeljanz for her own private use.

It would be good meet a person in TRurkey that can send to us this drougs...

How are you guys able to get an appointment with Dr. King? I tried and they wanted $425 for out of insurance consultation and they said they arent accepting new pts. How did you guys do it?

There are many other dr.s who prescribe xeljanz. I know dr King is known to be the best but I see a dr. Bordone in NYC at Columbia and I absolutely love her. You would have an appointment within 2-3 weeks

Im actually a doctor myself, I wanted to go see Dr. King to see if he can do anything about my DUPA ( I am also losing hair on my eyebrows eyelashes pubic hair and armpits). Its really bothering me and I know its autoimmune related- Does Dr. Bordone deal with skin issues as well? I actually live in NYC maybe we can meet up?

I am not familiar with DUPA. But yes she is a well known dermatologist so I'm sure she deals with other skin issues as well. I actually live in Staten Island don't get to the city other than for those appointments but of course next time I'm there can maybe meet up

I sent a friend request. I will send you my email and phone number. You can reach out when youre around. I will call dr. Bordone tomorrow. Thank you so much!!!

How long did it take for you to start seeing growth ? I had as since I was about 23 just small spots and after I had my son in February I lost it all .. June-aug 2015 ..I started xeljanz 2 weeks ago and am curious when I should expect to see substantial growth .. I even lost eyebrows ( most of them.. And most of lashes) but I was also under extreme stress along with having a horrible difficult labor .. (Csection )
Apparently he stopped seeing new patients for AA in his New Haven office and now only seeing them from his Middleton office. I have an appointment on 12/8, which was his first available when I scheduled in mid September. And to get the appointment, I had to first fill out a questionnaire about my experience with AA. My insurance didn't cover it either.
I see dr bordone she is so great!! I have been on xeljanz for 2 weeks today actually .
