I have received a lot of interest from others on here in my involvement with the Xeljanz trials at Yale.

I thought it would be nice for everyone if I documented my progress on here.

Xeljanz is a Jak3 inhibitor and is believed to work with alopecia by turning off the distress signal relayed by the hair follicle to the attacking immune system which is the cause of the hairs falling out. Xeljanz comes in a strength of 5mg per pill and a full box contains 60 tablets. The recommended dosage for arthritis is 1 tablet in the morning and another in the evening each day.

The trial is set in a series of stages and there are requirements before participating. These include monthly visits and blood tests every 2 weeks. Dr Brett King is absolutely fantastic and is an inspiration to me. His positivity and enthusiasm gives me the much needed hope I have craved for over a decade. I have been put on a low dose to start with which is 1 tablet every other day. My dosage has now been increased to 1 tablet every day and next month it could be increased to 2 tablets per day depending on the results.

I have completed my first month and have already noticed my alopecia has stabilised . I have not lost any existing hairs. In addition to this I have seen little hairs growing in my chest area as well as eyebrows. Fingers crossed! To date, I have experienced no side effects.

Wildstar, I asked you a question twice, go back to pages 241 and 242 to see them. Thanks.

so I'm not the only person who finds this forum format difficult when trying to find new posts in a thread?

It depends on how your email is set up here. I get notifications of every reply on a thread I have commented on. But yes, some replies are to posts from days, weeks, months or years ago. You have to read backwards and forwards on these threads to catch all the replies. If you don't, you won't have the complete context of the discussion(s) as they jump from topic to topic lol! As one person said last week, we can't be lazy on this thread to fully benefit. We have to be willing to READ and keep up if we want to stay informed.

He is ignoring the question, I think it didnt go well

Yes be patient Sultan h. Look for light, blondish hairs in about a month. You are headed towards AU, which is definitely autoimmune, so Xeljanz should work for you. Stay positive. I named myself Xeljanzmiracle 6 weeks BEFORE my hair started growing back because I had a million percent confidence it WOULD. To my knowledge we only had one apparent non responder to oral Xeljanz on this site, Football fan. And as of yesterday she is now a responder! For 10 long, depressing months she NEVER gave up. Imitate her faith Sultan h. Football fan is an inspiration to us all.
I will Xeljamiracl
I think football fans why he didn't respond Xelajnz
because he took another medicine beside Xeljanz
you agree with me
I see if any body take any medicine beside Xeljanz
No, I don't think that's why SHE didn't respond.
