I have received a lot of interest from others on here in my involvement with the Xeljanz trials at Yale.

I thought it would be nice for everyone if I documented my progress on here.

Xeljanz is a Jak3 inhibitor and is believed to work with alopecia by turning off the distress signal relayed by the hair follicle to the attacking immune system which is the cause of the hairs falling out. Xeljanz comes in a strength of 5mg per pill and a full box contains 60 tablets. The recommended dosage for arthritis is 1 tablet in the morning and another in the evening each day.

The trial is set in a series of stages and there are requirements before participating. These include monthly visits and blood tests every 2 weeks. Dr Brett King is absolutely fantastic and is an inspiration to me. His positivity and enthusiasm gives me the much needed hope I have craved for over a decade. I have been put on a low dose to start with which is 1 tablet every other day. My dosage has now been increased to 1 tablet every day and next month it could be increased to 2 tablets per day depending on the results.

I have completed my first month and have already noticed my alopecia has stabilised . I have not lost any existing hairs. In addition to this I have seen little hairs growing in my chest area as well as eyebrows. Fingers crossed! To date, I have experienced no side effects.

Hi Dom, In 2010, I was near Alopecia Totalis, and commenced treatment with methotrexate. Approxiately 6 months later I had full regrowth, which I have maintained since whilst on methotrexate. Attempts to reduce the dose of methotrexate have resulted in small patches of hair loss appearing, which have filled back in when the dose has increased again. I have suffered no side effects from methotrexate and all blood tests have been spot on. I hope this answers your question.
Dom
I'm totally disagree with you , a lot of people here has affective results and they did good job, I think you have mistake to see Al of these posts
and all your words illegal unfortunately ,,
all my friend got beautiful results from Xeljanz .so what the problem with you,
we don't give up we still use Xeljanz I like it . I think all xeljanzser agree with me,, please Dom let us alone
We just ignore him now Sultan H. He got drunk on St. Patrick's day (March 17) and told all of us that he drank a GALLON of beer and that he wasn't going to post on here for a year. So not only is he a drunk but he's also a liar. He is so jealous he can't stand for ANYONE on Xeljanz to have success. Every time a new person (like Blessing) grows their hair back and posts on here it drives him CRAZY! He is just showing everyone here how ignorant and misinformed he is. He doesn't even know about Dr. King at Yale University putting Kyle Rhodes on Xeljanz DELIBERATELY 2 years ago to restore his hair and help with his psoriasis. He doesn't know that was published in Yale News and made medical history and headlines all over the world. He says he didn't read this forum for A YEAR and then jumped back on with all of his negativity and nonsense. Don't bother trying to talk or reason with him personally, its useless.

The famous Kyle Rhodes and Doctor king?

I read about this when it first hit the news. Now it's a damp squib.

It's not the first time I have read about a patient and a Doctor with magnificent hair growth.

Where are all the other people since 2014 (2 years) with a full head of hair? Where are they? Surely there must be a site with these people on?

This thread contains self medicators, desperate dans/diannas, people with cosmetic regrowth, people waiting for it too grow and some who say they have a full head of hair.

1 No one talks about the medium/long term use.

2 No one talks about side effects.

3 No one talks about the people who are not responding

4 Where is the original poster?

Talk about conventions for millions of users and that I'm jealous, mad, insane, uninformed  are silly witterings.

Sultan:

I'm a voice of reason in this Jamboree of delusion.

Conventions for millions of cured Alopecia people.

A new wonder drug where everyone benefits.

It's so good people can desist from medical supervision.

Anyone with Alopecia can formulate their own treatment with Xeljanz as it's core component.

Dont listen to to the doom mongers. They are nasty people.

What happened to common sense?

We must be positive i love the way to Miracle ...this is the way to win this patology and in general to have a nice life...Xelijanz is working good in 1000 of men and women and NOONE SIDES EFFECT IMPORTANT, after 2 years of use ...we must be positive and belive in us .

I do not know of only one in this forum that has had important sides effect and are a lot of are using xelijanz ...dot King said this droug is effective and sure, and he is a doctor...now are comuing also new drougs like Bacitrin that have also less sides effect ...so here we need positive impulse no negative peopel.

Miracle i sent you a private mesg.

Thank you Nicolas. You are ABSOLUTELY RIGHT!

Hi

I am 27yrs old and been AU for 4 years. Would like to try Xeljanz but I am Venezuelan and Live in Venezuela

How can I get xeljanz for free?

Juan, Google Xelsource in the U.S. and call them. I don't know if Xeljanz is prescribed in Venezuela or not.
Juan, if you come to the U.S. you can get $12,000 (4 months) worth of Xeljanz for free by using the Xeljanz co-pay card. Read my last post to Gcobb for details on page 257.
although i disagree with a lot of what Dom says and his approach to things in general, i do agree that a strong medicine such as a JAK Inhibitor should only be taken under doctor's supervision. Whilst on this medicine you need to monitored by a professional and complete the required tests on regular basis to make sure nothing abnormal develops.

I have a consultation with a derm here in Canada next month who has prescribed Xeljanz for Alopecia before. Hopefully i will be on the treatment soon. The Dr. requires regular blood tests after starting the medication. I would never consider going on this medication unsupervised.
