I have received a lot of interest from others on here in my involvement with the Xeljanz trials at Yale.

I thought it would be nice for everyone if I documented my progress on here.

Xeljanz is a Jak3 inhibitor and is believed to work with alopecia by turning off the distress signal relayed by the hair follicle to the attacking immune system which is the cause of the hairs falling out. Xeljanz comes in a strength of 5mg per pill and a full box contains 60 tablets. The recommended dosage for arthritis is 1 tablet in the morning and another in the evening each day.

The trial is set in a series of stages and there are requirements before participating. These include monthly visits and blood tests every 2 weeks. Dr Brett King is absolutely fantastic and is an inspiration to me. His positivity and enthusiasm gives me the much needed hope I have craved for over a decade. I have been put on a low dose to start with which is 1 tablet every other day. My dosage has now been increased to 1 tablet every day and next month it could be increased to 2 tablets per day depending on the results.

I have completed my first month and have already noticed my alopecia has stabilised . I have not lost any existing hairs. In addition to this I have seen little hairs growing in my chest area as well as eyebrows. Fingers crossed! To date, I have experienced no side effects.

hi eveyone
my update: 2 weeks and half
I'm not seen new hair yet! but I think my scale is better that before
and my nais became strong , yes I agree with Susan she said cycle of the hair 3 months . and I guess all people how use Xeljanz need at least 3 months . thanks you
have a good weekend
sultan
Sultan h, are you taking 1 pill a day or 2? On 2 pills a lot of Xeljanzers on here have responded in about a MONTH. I did, Singh did, Jcortez, and Max told us last week he saw regrowth in 3 weeks! So no, it does not have to be 3 months. Everyone is different. Stay positive and have faith. Some people that didn't respond to Xeljanz are having success on Ruxolitinib and Baricitinib because the Jak pathways are different. It's great we have these options now.
Xeljamzmiracle
I took 2 pills a day.i'm not AU .i'm AA i have many spots alopeica
in my head and no eyelash and brows . I will be patient .maybe AU respond more than AA, I want only elelash and brows grow .
and also maybe when I use Xeljanz before eat that's why no respond yet.. thank you and any news I will tee you guys
If you are not losing new hairs and your nails are stronger that IS a response! Most likely you will have new scalp hair before new eyebrows and eyelashes. I'm still waiting for my lower lashes to come in fully, but my upper lashes are long now. You can take Xeljanz with food or without food at anytime of the day. It doesn't matter. If you were losing your eyebrows and eyelashes you were headed towards being AU. That's actually a good sign because it means your alopecia is autoimmune and Xeljanz will probably work for you completely in due time.

Hi miracle , can you expand on what you mean when you say sultans AA is due to autoimmune ? Is AA and AU not always autoimmune ? or am I misinformed ?

Bibby, you are right, AA is autoimmune also. But so many men think they have AA when it's male pattern baldness, i.e. androgenic instead. Females can have androgenic baldness also.
Summer2000, a couple of questions? Are you male or female? And are you on ORAL Ruxolitinib or topical? Also, how much Ruxolitinib are you taking a day? Thanks
Thought this was interesting

3-5 estimated years for JAKs to be approved for treatment. While not ideal I'll take it. I would think with various trials going on and a safety profile already in place I would think 3 years is way more possible. It would be nice if trial results were released a little quicker as the doctors for sure know more today then what has been released. Im very curious to know if dr Christiano is taking any JAKs herself.

I find it really crumby they can't speed this up, we are suffering.

Guys i meet a factory can make baricitinib 0,5% in topical cream,  if do you need send me a private message so more we are more discount we can have(they asked me a big order).

Hi Nicolas, does it work? Anyone here with positive results?

I'm a little confused is Baricitinib approved in other countries?Does any one know when it will be approved in the U.S.And what is the difference between Baricitinib and Ruxolitnib aren't they both JAK 1 and 2.
Hi guys
I'm just wondering have any one who use Xeljnz had small red or dark spots in your skin arm ?? thank you we are sharing everything
Thank you
