I have received a lot of interest from others on here in my involvement with the Xeljanz trials at Yale.

I thought it would be nice for everyone if I documented my progress on here.

Xeljanz is a Jak3 inhibitor and is believed to work with alopecia by turning off the distress signal relayed by the hair follicle to the attacking immune system which is the cause of the hairs falling out. Xeljanz comes in a strength of 5mg per pill and a full box contains 60 tablets. The recommended dosage for arthritis is 1 tablet in the morning and another in the evening each day.

The trial is set in a series of stages and there are requirements before participating. These include monthly visits and blood tests every 2 weeks. Dr Brett King is absolutely fantastic and is an inspiration to me. His positivity and enthusiasm gives me the much needed hope I have craved for over a decade. I have been put on a low dose to start with which is 1 tablet every other day. My dosage has now been increased to 1 tablet every day and next month it could be increased to 2 tablets per day depending on the results.

I have completed my first month and have already noticed my alopecia has stabilised . I have not lost any existing hairs. In addition to this I have seen little hairs growing in my chest area as well as eyebrows. Fingers crossed! To date, I have experienced no side effects.

Thanks again. Do you know which parts of Turkey they sell the drug? Is it Istanbul for example?
Yes, in Instanbul. Again, I know it's work, but try going back a year to around page 115 of this thread. Search for the names and posts I told u about earlier. You will get all the info u need about where u can stay in Instanbul and name, location and PHONE NUMBER of the pharmacy. As I recall, they speak English.
No Bibby, your 4 months of free Xeljanz ($12,000 worth) is ONLY available in the U.S.thru the co-pay card. You don't get $12,000 IN CASH from Pfizer to take to Turkey to buy Xeljanz with.

Thanks for the reply Miracle , So just to be clear Miracle , do I need to be a US resident to comply with membership to the co-pay card scheme ? €500-€600 a box in Turkey would be a bit of a stretch for me to pay out of my own cash savings.

A lot of people from other countries come over here temporarily, stay for awhile and get their Xeljanz using the Co-pay Card. Some come to New York, see a New York dermatologist, get their prescription, and take it to the pharmacy to pick up their Xeljanz. Some get part of their Xeljanz here, and have the pharmacy mail the rest back to their home countries.

Thanks again for your help. This has helped me formulate a strategy for the early new year. Happy Christmas

When I called pfizer to inquire about a co-pay card they told me i had to be an American citizen. Let me know if you find out differently. I am a Canadian and though i could get a prescription for the Xeljanz i can not afford it. Thanks a lot

You download the card from the internet and you activate it by phone. You never speak to anyone, nust follow the prompts. So no one inquires as to your nationality
The alibaba website sells tofacitinib is that legit? How can this site put out medicine online?

Hi,

Any body experienced falling out of hair? i have suddenly started losing hair.. I dont know how to handle this, but the hair fall is becoming stressful...

Yes, my 19-year old daughter is having the same issues.  Full head of hair (pixie length now) and all regrowth of body hair/brows/eyelashes but she started shedding about a month ago. She's on 3 pills/day and has been on Xeljanz about 1.5 years. She was a slow responder but noted the biggest jump when she went to 3 pills.

My question for anyone would be has anyone had the shedding and its only temporary? I am hoping the shedding will reverse but haven't seen any posts where the shedding stopped? Anyone out there having these issues? Thanks!

My shedding completely stopped like 2 months after it started
