I have received a lot of interest from others on here in my involvement with the Xeljanz trials at Yale.

I thought it would be nice for everyone if I documented my progress on here.

Xeljanz is a Jak3 inhibitor and is believed to work with alopecia by turning off the distress signal relayed by the hair follicle to the attacking immune system which is the cause of the hairs falling out. Xeljanz comes in a strength of 5mg per pill and a full box contains 60 tablets. The recommended dosage for arthritis is 1 tablet in the morning and another in the evening each day.

The trial is set in a series of stages and there are requirements before participating. These include monthly visits and blood tests every 2 weeks. Dr Brett King is absolutely fantastic and is an inspiration to me. His positivity and enthusiasm gives me the much needed hope I have craved for over a decade. I have been put on a low dose to start with which is 1 tablet every other day. My dosage has now been increased to 1 tablet every day and next month it could be increased to 2 tablets per day depending on the results.

I have completed my first month and have already noticed my alopecia has stabilised . I have not lost any existing hairs. In addition to this I have seen little hairs growing in my chest area as well as eyebrows. Fingers crossed! To date, I have experienced no side effects.

just lie.
send them a letter saying u make X income.
they are not related to the government so they won't know.
I worked in the copay department for multiple pharmaceutical companies. do it. and consider yourself lucky because Pfizer outside USA does not offer copayment for xeljanz. I spent 20k a few months ago for the therapy... meanwhile some people get it free. having alopecia universalis sucks, but having no options is hell
Thank you for the info..it makes sense..
Just wondering if its true there is no need for prescription to get it in turkey...i hope someone helps and let me know

you can buy xeljanz in turkey without doctor's prescription, just go to any pharmacy and orders, usually after a few hours you get it

Thanj you very much. Dod xeljanz help you? Where you able to have your hair back? How long have you had AU?
Xelsource asks for W2 or last few pay stubs for proof of income
that's why I said u need to lie...
1 option could be no pay stubs because you are a self employed. and obviously it is very easy to say you make that much when u are a self employed... do a few mock invoices or anything...
another option could be that u lost your job for example...
they are not severe at all and their role is not to put pressure on patients. you can say you are late for filing your tax return etc...
Don't assume that ur income is too high. Xelsource takes into consideration your mortgage, bills, etc. In the meantime, get ur 4 months of Xeljanz free thru the co-pay card. Put Turkey on hold for now. As I said 2 weeks ago, before the nightclub incident, Instanbul is a dangerous political climate right now.

Hello how is your health check I am french and i wish to go in turkey i call a pharmacy the price is 430 dollars. I wish to take it long term but I am afraid of serious effects can you tell me more? Is it possible to take it for life?

I have a question for any person on the Xelljanz thread. Has anybody double dosed useing the 11 mg time release tablets opposed to takeing four of the Five Mg tablets a day if so how were the results thanks for any help
To all people with AU who tried xeljanz..i want to ask you have you ever had your eyebrows and eyelashes back?

Yes, I am answering this question based on what is happening with my daughter who started Xeljanz 3 months ago. The growth is impressive to me since at one time she was completely bald and now has half of each eyebrow, short lashes top and bottom and I think nice coverage on her head. We are hopeful but do understand all of the down sides of this drug and the potential to lose it all if she does not take the medication, Time will tell.
