I have received a lot of interest from others on here in my involvement with the Xeljanz trials at Yale.

I thought it would be nice for everyone if I documented my progress on here.

Xeljanz is a Jak3 inhibitor and is believed to work with alopecia by turning off the distress signal relayed by the hair follicle to the attacking immune system which is the cause of the hairs falling out. Xeljanz comes in a strength of 5mg per pill and a full box contains 60 tablets. The recommended dosage for arthritis is 1 tablet in the morning and another in the evening each day.

The trial is set in a series of stages and there are requirements before participating. These include monthly visits and blood tests every 2 weeks. Dr Brett King is absolutely fantastic and is an inspiration to me. His positivity and enthusiasm gives me the much needed hope I have craved for over a decade. I have been put on a low dose to start with which is 1 tablet every other day. My dosage has now been increased to 1 tablet every day and next month it could be increased to 2 tablets per day depending on the results.

I have completed my first month and have already noticed my alopecia has stabilised . I have not lost any existing hairs. In addition to this I have seen little hairs growing in my chest area as well as eyebrows. Fingers crossed! To date, I have experienced no side effects.

Hi Beth, I’m pretty sure the steriod pulse will push you to more growth plus maybe thinking of eventually going to 20 mg if you are able to. The shed slowing is a good sign and the steriods will probably take a month to fully kick in. I am very much looking forward to seeing your hair when it comes in- I’m pretty sure it’s just a matter of time and correct dosing. It’s so hard to be patient cause we all want to burn our wigs and hats ASAP but hair is a long game. I didn’t really get growing properly until the 4/5 months and I remember being quite anxious during that time,  but just try to look to the long game- in 6 months I reckon you will be sporting a lovely pixie style!

Once again - thank YOU, Frida .  Yes, I agree,   I plan on increasing my dose to 20 mgs. But I’ve only been taking 15mgs for about a month. I’ll give another month or so then bump up to 20.  Excited the mini pulses jump start growth..,,

I’m best wishes to everyone- I’ll keep ya’ll posted

Frida I could not agree more.

Finding my doctor was a miracle and I feel so lucky. so happy and lucky to have my hair back.
but then a sadness for those who are still suffering.

love to all of you guys

Thank god for the wonderful doctors out there who actually listen to us alopecians and are concerned with our quality of life mentally. I have been to a couple doctors who were extremely dismissive and inept, so I just thank all my lucky stars for my doctor and his willingness to treat me and be so gentle and kind too.  Glad you found a gem too.

Hi Nicole how have you been since I placed a new order at Beacon pharmaceutical he sent me an effective method of payment I no longer need to go to my bank to make the transfer and I no longer have bank charges if it interests you I can you give it to me I still do not start tofacinix because I can not find a laboratory to examine the drug. I ordered 4 boxes

I added low dose betamethasone 6mg twice a week, it really helps to grow hair and hair I've been pushing it all over the body on my legs while I've never had it in my life. but I do not have a regrowth 100% I must wait the hardest are the hair so at the end of the month my doctor will give me injections on the skull of kenalog. my health is good

Hey Katiegirl,
Another thing that I think helped bring my lashes back was Rodan and Fields Lash Booster. Expensive but will last you forever and i swear it worked.
HI Kevin,

Which method did they give you pay?
That's great to know!

I'm able to do an online wire with my bank which costs me $40.

This time i brought in 8 boxes from Beacon. No problem. I have about a 5 month supply of 15 mg per day stashed at this time.

Have never tested it again because its working, no need. My remaining patches are starting to fill in so beyond grateful.

I used Transferwise as well as it was a much cheaper and easier option for wire transfer. I highly recommend it. Beacon shipped out the 6 boxes I ordered late last week so i hope they come in soon.

hello yp I ordered two boxes a month ago I received them in less than two weeks the customs did not leave the boxes. I wait to receive the 4 boxes I keep you informed that I receive them.
today I found a laboratory that will analyze tofacinix if it is the same molecule and if there is 5 mg in a tablet the right dosage

Thanks Kevin, please let us know. I’m tired of buying expensive pills!!
