When I first had AA I reached a point when I decided to shave it all off. It was the most liberating experience imaginable.

At first I had to shave every day as my hair was still growing in patches. It then all came back but then the alopecia came back for a second time. I shaved it all off again but this time it developed into AU.

Being AU is so much better. I don’t have to shave and having lost all of my body hair, I feel so clean. It really is good

I think AU is much better than AA. Having patches was awfull but having no hair is great.

Christian, I, too, feel like a handicap, because of my aa.

I did lost hope of regrowing back my hair and it did started spreading on the rest of my body. I am still fighting the feeling of being a handicap person. Sometimes I don't feel like going out of my home and I wish, at least, all the hair should leave me at once have it done with it once for all.

But no. The process is looong and very socially affecting.

Oops. I meant the roots look like exclamation points.

There is minimal regrowth. *sigh*

The spot on my crown is slowly spreading. Eek. It is like an island with a few hairs. The roots have a needle like appearance. At times it tingles and hurts some to touch the spot or even when I gently tug at the hairs. I've started using 2% rogaine and nioxin shampoo. I'm going to see a dermatologist when I can carve out some time to do so. I'm going to give it a year for any progress, and if not, I'm shaving it off. It has been two years since I found the spot and its slowly getting worse. Ggrr.
