I had a consultation with www.hishairclinic .com and I too didn't think it looked real enough to have the procedure done. i especially don't like the "hairline" too dramatic for my taste. Perhaps with time technique may improve with technological advances and a talented technician/artist.
There are other posts about this procedure on AW. Some are positive.
Sk3Bruce23, I checked out the website. I've thought about that, but I'm concerned with it not coming out looking like it's real. I don't want to be stuck with something fake looking on my head. I have scarring alopecia with a majority of my hair gone (I'd say 70% or so). But I also have vitiligo where there is no hair, so my scalp reminds me of the different shades on the mood. I'm already pretty pale, but it's still noticeable on my scalp. And I don't think the tattoo would do much to cover that up.
Sorry your alopecia is back. But glad we can support each other.
I don't know what your current situation is with you alopecia so hard to suggest anything.
There are masking cremes and powders. Depends on your hair loss pattern.
hi people, i just joined and I am feeling excited i found this site! hope everyone is doing well!
Hi, I identify as queer. I have had Alopecia since I was 5 and mostly AU. I don't get a wig or get shots. I used to. Now I no longer believe there is anything wrong with me. Well, thanks for having this group!
I never thought of Alopecia as being angrogynous for men--only for women (so I get to take yet another step in unlearning sexism). Recently I was at Home Depot shopping for window tinting film and had a young man refer to me as "ma'am". I was wearing a flip flop and my prosthetic leg with the pegleg round "pod" foot (which I think of as very masculine), soft athletic shorts and a tank top with narrow straps at the top (more feminine now that I look at it). I hadn't really thought of my smooth head and body as being that androgynous, but now I'm looking at it with new eyes.
I find this experience to be both humorous and enlightening.
