Hello, Alopecia happend to me about 5 years ago. I have been with my partner for almost 18 years. The Alopeica just happend when I was about 45 years old. Almost all my hair fell out. I did not shave for 5 weeks. It was bad and scary! All my hair grew back. But I still have a bout with it at times. Little and bigger spots appear. But it does grow back without the shots in the head that I did. The most scary part about this was when my Partner wanted to take a pitcure of us together before the "front" of my hair feel out. He was crying. I felt so bad. He just wanted to remember me the way I looked with hair. I told him I the same person inside, just look a little different on the outside. He smiled a lot. We went out for lunch. Yes, after all this, fighting with Health Insurance to pay for this, and won, we are still together. To this day, I can not imagine what went through his head when one little spot the size of a dime appeared on the back of my head.

Hi Jeff,

Thanks for the encouraging words. I am thankful that I found a community on this board with others that have been through what I am going through and have become confident, adjusted people that have accepted their hair loss and have moved forward. Everyday I struggle with the loss but am trying really hard to let go and learn to accept and love myself.
