Stephanie, thanks for the advice. I guess I'll have to try on lots of hats, lol.

Sarah, do you crochet/nit? You might have to make your own hats that are chic and fit. I thought of doing so myself.

To find the perfect fitting hat, does it take going to a specialty store? I found a cute beret at target, but unfortunately it flattens my hair. :( I have diffuse alopecia along with androgenic alopecia, so my hair is thinning out right now. It really sucks.

i love hats all kinds of them but my head is so small i need a youth cap and those styles arnt so great boo is there any one out there with the same problem and what do you do or where do you shop?

Amber, I used to feel the same way. I have a few hats that hug my hairline but don't really touch the top of my head so the hair doesn't flatten. You just have to try a bunch on as it needs to fit snug enough not to settle down on your hair.

Hats are great but here is nothing better than to feel a warm breeze on your bald head!!!!

When I first lost my hair I really felt the cold and needed to wear a hat all of the winter when I went outside. This year I've not felt the cold as much and only wear a hat when it is really cold.

Hi.

I love to wear hats/bananas, but just don't like the way it flattens my hair. Any advice?

I have both synthetic and human hair wigs, I like the synthetic best. But I think itching is caused mostly by the cap material and construction. I think monofilament hand tied wigs are probably the most comfortable, but I'm not sure and, of course, people have varying degrees of sensitively. Sometimes my head itches, but when it does -- I just scratch it! I wear hats a lot and it has never bothered me P.S. Today it's raining her in the lowlands, I'm hoping that means snow in the mountains for the weekend!

OK Marie , rub it in!! Here in Mass, its looking like the Jan Thaw is going to take its toll in the base!!
BTW, is your wig natural hair? Mine is synthetic and it is very itchy and uncomfortable with a hat over it> I tried it at a BC football game this fall and I couldn't WAIT to rip the whole thing off>>>

I know folks with think I'm a little weird, but I wear my wigs. When I ski with a helmet they work just fine. When I ski with just a hat, they also work. I just think of my wigs as my hair, so it seems natural to wear them skiing. (By the way -- AWESOME powder in eastern Washington this weekend. Spent the whole time skiing the tree runs. Beautiful!)
